First day of school - a day to document with pictures. I picked them up after their first day in new classes with new teachers, new experiences, plenty of excitement ….and I forgot pictures…. First-day-of-school-after-school treat an afternoon in the pool. Plenty of opportunities for pictures, plenty of moments to capture. Chase swam the length of the pool for the first time and beamed with the pride of new accomplishment. Aiden’s precious bubbling laughter as I twirled him around in the pool while he tried to spray water in my face …..and I forgot pictures…. In a last minute effort to rectify this, I called Aiden to look at me and smile, and he immediately put his head in the water. What else should I expect of Aiden and what better documentation of an imp’s first day of school?

2019 _ I posted that about 6 years ago. The little imp is 10 now - double digits, on his way up and out. The years have passed incredibly fast. My heart still belongs to him.

At this age, in my retirement years, I discover how much I love working with my hands. This rocker came to me as a dark stained wood with an ugly dark heavy upholstery. I love how it turned out. This is one of my favorites so far. Even as tired as I am after each day of sanding, painting, sanding, waxing, and buffing, I still look forward to getting to do more the next day. The possibilities are endless. I told Aiden his Samurai had to sleep on the bench all night and thought he was homeless so Aiden needed to take him home and make him feel loved.
