Help Eliza Taylor Build Her School
As you have probably noticed from my Instagram, I have two beautiful god children living on the Island of Koh Tao, Thailand - Kasper and Pepper. Their parents, two of my best friends, moved there from Australia seeking inner and outer peace, stronger community and stronger values for their children to grow up with.
Kasperâs lovely Thai and Myanmar immigrant friends were slowly leaving the island, many without their parents, to go to school far away where they could get a better education at an affordable price. Much of the Thai community couldnât afford the cost of the private school on the island, run as a small business venture with no proper curriculum or accreditation. In fact, most children would never be able to access anything above a basic Thai education, something that Myanmar immigrant children would never benefit from when they return home, where Thai is not spoken.Â
To cut a long story short, Claire and I decided we would attempt a Not for Profit School, that was run only to cover its own costs to keep the fees as low as possible. As we did the numbers, we realized the more children that went to the school the lower the school fees would go and more children would have access to it. Most importantly families could stay together. 2 years later the school has become a reality and the children are thriving, however- the space they rent together with a private kindergarten is being sold. The school canât afford to move. When I came to visit I could see the education standard was fantastic, but if we could achieve rent free land then resources like playground equipment, proper sized classrooms and flushing toilets would be attainable.
So this is where you step in. My hope is that you and I together can save Koh Tao International Primary and help to further develop the Not for Profit structure so that it can be replicated in other parts of the World like Thailand and Myanmar.Â
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference. We have a list of Thai and Burmese children waiting for the fees to lower so they can attend the school. These kids really need us. Your contribution will mean the world to them and me. Thank You, Love EJ Help spread the word!

Iâve noticed this a lot in peoples work, especially from those who ask me how to improve on it. I often respond with âbe more loose and donât be afraid of the final product before you even startâ Hopefully this will help give a little insight on how I think when Iâm starting off a drawing.

Ways to un-stick a stuck story
Do an outline, whatever way works best. Get yourself out of the word soup and know where the story is headed.
Conflicts and obstacles. Hurt the protagonist, put things in their way, this keeps the story interesting. An easy journey makes the story boring and boring is hard to write.
Change the POV. Sometimes all it takes to untangle a knotted story is to look at it through different eyes, be it through the sidekick, the antagonist, a minor character, whatever.
Know the characters. You canât write a story if the characters are strangers to you. Know their likes, dislikes, fears, and most importantly, their motivation. This makes the path clearer.
Fill in holes. Writing doesnât have to be linear; you can always go back and fill in plotholes, and add content and context.
Have flashbacks, hallucinations, dream sequences or foreshadowing events. These stir the story up, deviations from the expected course add a feeling of urgency and uncertainty to the narrative.
Introduce a new mystery. If thereâs something that just doesnât add up, a big question mark, the story becomes more compelling. Beware: this can also cause you to sink further into the mire.
Take something from your protagonist. A weapon, asset, ally or loved one. Force him to operate without it, it can reinvigorate a stale story.
Twists and betrayal. Maybe someone isnât who they say they are or the protagonist is betrayed by someone he thought he could trust. This can shake the story up and get it rolling again.
Secrets. If someone has a deep, dark secret that theyâre forced to lie about, itâs a good way to stir up some fresh conflict. New lies to cover up the old ones, the secret being revealed, and all the resulting chaos.
Kill someone. Make a character death that is productive to the plot, but not âjust becauseâ. If done well, it affects all the characters, stirs up the story and gets it moving.
Ill-advised character actions. Tension is created when a character we love does something we hate. Identify the thing the readers donât want to happen, then engineer it so it happens worse than they imagined.
Create cliff-hangers. Keep the readersâ attention by putting the characters into new problems and make them wait for you to write your way out of it. This challenge can really bring out your creativity.
Raise the stakes. Make the consequences of failure worse, make the journey harder. Suddenly the protagonistâs goal is more than he expected, or he has to make an important choice.
Make the hero active. You canât always wait for external influences on the characters, sometimes you have to make the hero take actions himself. Not necessarily to be successful, but active and complicit in the narrative.
Different threat levels. Make the conflicts on a physical level (âIâm about to be killed by a demonâ), an emotional level (âBut that demon was my true loveâ) and a philosophical level (âIf Iâm forced to kill my true love before they kill me, how can love ever succeed in the face of evil?â).
Figure out an ending. If you know where the story is going to end, it helps get the ball rolling towards that end, even if itâs not the same ending that you actually end up writing.
What if? What if the hero kills the antagonist now, gets captured, or goes insane? When you write down different questions like these, the answer to how to continue the story will present itself.
Start fresh or skip ahead. Delete the last five thousand words and try again. Itâs terrifying at first, but frees you up for a fresh start to find a proper path. Or you can skip the part thatâs putting you on edge â forget about that fidgety crap, you can do it later â and write the next scene. Whatever was in-between will come with time.
fandom homophobia, the m/m POV
Even in fandom and even from LGBT fans who write and draw m/m ships you can always tell that gayness between men is a joke or something thatâs just okay for everyone to grab and play with and consider their own emotional and sexual growth⌠itâs so rare for me to meet a fan of any m/m ship who isnât a man and who does treat those relationships and characters with respect.
I think people forget how hard it is to live as a man attracted to men, and how much of that struggle can be identity in its own way. I genuinely canât believe people donât realize how disrespectful it is to just shove your kinks at those m/m relationships if youâre not a man, or to completely erase that part of struggle and pain, or to treat those ships as if itâs just okay and right for you to write/draw porn of gay men because you think itâs hot.
The only reason m/m ships are considered so hot and attractive is because everyone still considers them taboo and dirty and deviant. That was the basis for homophobia against gay/bi men in the first place and as far as Iâm concerned considering m/m porn part of your âsexual expressionâ if youâre not a man is just as homophobic. Youâre not a friend or ally to gay/bi men, youâre just attracted to how secret and sexy and provocative you think sex and relationships between men are.Â
Gay porn isnât for you. Gay male relationships arenât for you. You donât get to just appropriate them without thinking for two seconds about how you can portray them with respect and accuracy (to the characters, to where they live, to the time period, to the various ways men who love men experience homophobia and try to confront it or protect themselves from it). Black and white gay men are second only to black trans women in the reported amount of LGBT murders between 2012 and 2015 in the US. In France where I live, homophobia targeted at men makes up 66% of all the anti-LGBT violence and discrimination reported to SOS Homophobie in 2015, with more than 700 cases for it alone. These are just two examples that Iâm personally familiar with. Keep in mind that hate crimes and abuse are always severely underreported.
I know people like to believe being A Man Who Happens To Be Gay isnât an issue anymore in todayâs world, but thatâs only true for wealthy men (who are white, who are not GNC, who are not disabled, etc) and in very few countries. Youâd be a fool to believe that no boy faces violence anymore for questioning his sexuality. The vast majority of them do. And itâs a sign of homophobia and privilege in itself that so many non-men get to just write/draw about men being gay, in the most explicit ways, without ever facing consequences for it, whereas men and young boys feel too threatened to say anything in fandom just like in real life.
Way too often these boys and men are exposed to the worst predatoriness in fandom, because by now entitlement to gay/bi menâs bodies, relationships, and experiences isnât just about fictional characters, but about real people as well. RPS is a blight that has banalized not only the invasion of celebritiesâ private lives and bodies but also that of men who arenât as distant from and protected against their fans and followers. And it needs to stop.
Gay/bi men didnât sprout into existence for fandomâs enjoyment. They are real people with a real history of persecution, abuse, and murder, one that continues today everywhere in the world.Â
Having respect for this history while still drawing or writing m/m relationships includes but is not limited to:Â
- Not treating gayness as a joke
- Not erasing a characterâs gayness despite their being in a gay relationship (i.e. âhe had only ever dated women and didnât consider himself gay or bisexualâ, âhe was only gay for [insert name]â, etc). This is an absolute red flag that you donât like the concept of men being gay or bi as an important part of their identity, just of men fucking each other.
- Getting rid of entitled and fetishistic language (âmy gaysâ, calling yourself a yaoi or BL or slash fan, âuke/semeâ, etc)
- Respecting the boundaries and privacy of real men, and that includes popular youtubers and internet famous men as well as athletes and actors who are more protected against this. Just because he will probably never read your fanfiction of him fucking his best friend doesnât give you the right to write it.
- Not calling m/m relationships and gay/bi men âsinâ, âfilthâ, âsinnersâ. This is homophobia.
- Not furthering the portrayal of gay/bi men as predatory in general and particularly not toward minors and particularly not if they are men of color
- Not treating gay/bi male characters as inherently sexual or inherently non-sexual, especially if being non-sexual means being âpureâ to you. Both are bad. Both are homophobic.
- Not perpetuating stereotypes about sex between men (the infamous top vs bottom dichotomy) and especially not if you base those stereotypes in misogynyâand in general realizing that whatever cultural words and stereotypes regarding sex, appearance, and demeanor may be real for some gay/bi men, those are probably not yours to claim to understand and depict realistically. Any understanding you have of them will be rooted in homophobia, so fight to unlearn that first of all.
No oneâs saying you canât write or draw m/m relationships. Just do it with some respect is all. The rhetoric that fanfiction and art of m/m ships is female sexual empowerment and liberation, because of how women-dominated transformative works are, is outdated and homophobic. Itâs disrespectful to every man and boy out there who has to live through homophobiaâtheir struggles, their lives, their experiences are not for anyone but them to claim as empowering or liberating.Â
Spend less time thinking of fictional gay/bi men and more time supporting actual gay/bi men in your life. This starts by hearing them out when they say that the way you ship men makes you entitled and fetishistic and, yes, homophobic.
all of this + writers often thinking that like⌠spit or going in without lube is safe/normal (it isnâtâchances are that youâre gonna end up with fissures/tearing/a much higher risk of STI and HIV transmission), not to mention serophobia, the vast prevalence of âhurt/comfortâ fic + rape being used as a plot device so, so often (including characters often falling in love with their rapists! what the fuck!), racism, countless fics that attempt to normalize/eroticize pedophilia, and a hell of a lot of really gross tropes and ideas about gay trans men/our bodies/the language we use for ourselves/the kinds of sex we may or may not have
I also want to point out how drawing/writing mlm relationships involving incest is straight up fetishizing mlm in one of the most disrespectful ways ever. Seeing content like that gives the message that you literally see two brothers and the first thing you think about is âThey are both hot lol they should fuck each other.âÂ
Thatâs fetishization.
If you see artists/writers who are not mlm involved with creating incestous content, they only care about objectifying mlm and nothing more.

Dear Donald Trump
Dear Donald J. Trump I donât like you and I never have, but now has come the time when I must forget about that. You are about to control this country for the next 4 years and that scares me. I just have a few requests.
- Please donât let men think that they can take advantage of me because of my gender or the way I dress. - Please donât discredit the value of my race or the issues of people that donât look like you. - Please donât let women think that they are worthless outside of their looks. - Please donât let my LGBTQ+ friends suffer and hide for another 4 years. - Please donât let fathers and mothers be scared to send their children into a world where guns are given to whomever wants them. - Please donât tell me that Iâm different from my white friends. - Please donât assume that all immigrants are vile and disgusting when this country was built on the strong backs of our immigrant ancestors. - Please donât let me fear walking down the street. - Please donât push away people who have fought so hard to find refuge in our great nation. - Please donât tear us, as americans, away from the rest of the world. - I beg you, do not let our promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness die. - Please donât let me hate being american. - Please donât make America great again. Just make it great.

1. Ah Fai was a chief animator for McDullâs animated features. Heâs super cool. Ultimate senpai.Â
2. Previous post on breakdowns right hereÂ
Some thoughts on acceleration and force
I presented this in the order of how I slowly understood the trick of delivering force -Â first an abstract concept of impact taught by Ah Fai, then a more complicated discovery on the acceleration pattern, last back to a more abstract concept of breakdowns.Â
Like Iâve previously stressed, 2D animation is everything but one single approach. Thereâs no one rule that rules them all, but interchangeable ideas with math, or physics, or music, etc. Thereâs no âperfectâ animation either, but what is perceived as organic and dynamic. E.g., using the Fibonacci numbers to animate didnât bring me a perfect animation! On the other hand, a tiny change in the pattern could already make the feeling of force so much more powerful.Â
Not so much of a tutorial than a personal experience. I hope you find this interesting hahahaÂ
*snaps fingers* THATS WHAT IT IS! Iâve always felt the difference but Iâve never been able to put my finger on it! Thanks so much for sharing :D

everyones theme has been erased and replaced with what seems to be a default theme, and everyones html has been erased
some themes still work apparently? but mostly everyones has been erased
you have not been hacked and your blog has not been purposefully sabotaged
its best to wait patiently until tumblr fixes this
and when that happens, you can recover your theme here https://www.tumblr.com/themes/recover but right now that wont work
so just wait patiently and calmly until this is resolved and do not panic!
