"Actually, let me see if I have… Aha!" Reeve pats himself down until he produces a deck of cards, Golden Saucer themed.

"You just have those on you?" Kunsel asks. Reeve nods, smiling lightly.

"You never know when you'll need some cards. And I used to play card games with other people at Shinra on occasion." Reeve pulls out the cards as a song auto-plays in the background on the machine, completely instrumental. Reeve expertly shuffles them, humming as he does, then presents them to Aerith. "Pick a card, show the guard dog but don't show me."

"Guard dog?!" Aerith blurts out with a laugh.

"He's like an over protective hound," Reeve defends, "and you still haven't told me his name."

in replaying the original ff7, i just remembered that reeve kidnaps marlene during the second trip to the gold saucer, for no? real reason?? he says its as leverage, but there's literally no mention of it after

im starting to think he took like a day off from being pretending to be comically evil for shinra and just rolled up to elmyra's house to hang out and gave marlene twenty bucks to pretend she'd been kidnapped for the two seconds he was talking to avalanche

You know what I want to see in fic/art/etc? Avalanche's thoughts regarding Cait Sith's existence post-Meteor.

He claims to be a robotic mascot being controlled from an office. The rest of the cast seem to both accept and not accept that as an explanation. And they're more or less okay with whatever he is. But after Meteorfall, it raises two serious questions:

If Cait Sith is a robot, is he being powered by mako? In a world where mako can't be used even to save human lives?

If Cait Sith isn't being powered by mako... what the hell is Cait Sith?

Outside the game, we the players know it's magic. BUT THE CHARACTERS DO NOT KNOW THAT.

I have like, several "this would be cool" ff vii Reeve Tuesti/Cait Sith stories I want to read and zero of them exsist. Unfortunately Cait and Reeve have been delegated to "minor character" and "comic relief" by the fans and its like. I find the man more interesting then the rest of the cast. And its one of those cases where I know more supplementary material then game material so its hard for me to write it but like. Weird little facts like "Cait's accent is likely Reeve's actual Accent" and the implication that Cait has a chunk of Reeve's soul in it and thats why the little robot works so well, like. This is set up for a cool character study even, you have the dude who's sanded down all his edges to be an executive and his fursona that he goes and plays hero with. Wheres the story where he slowly just starts realizing he identifies with Cait more? Where's him taking a few moments to remember that when someone calls for Reeve its him? Hell wheres him slowly stuffing more and more of his soul into the cat until Reeve is more the puppet then it? Or even a slow evening out as Reeve gets oddly more Cait-like and Cait gets only more Reeve like? Or a DID style fic where Cait and Reeve both begin having memory gaps where the other starts? They're sharing bodies but they're different people? Or the opposite, where they can't remember which shape they were in when the event happened? There's just so fucking many cool angles to take and ahfkakfnanf This man is the most successful therian, where's my fucking fanfics? But no, He's the comic relief to most authors.

As much as I love Reeve, for the story and plot it is very important that he is separate from the rest of the group. Still, I think it causes him to get forgotten when people think about Avalanche. So I’m starting a petition for squenix to put Reeve’s live reaction to everything in the corner of the screen like he’s a YouTuber
