Friday- My day in great detail

Today was a pretty normal day, nothing special for a friday. but here we go.

 6:00 AM rolls around, my eyes flutter open to the sound of cats meowing in the next room awaiting their breakfast. My eyes continue to open and close a few times as they try to decide if they’re ready to start the day, or if going back to bed for another hour would be a good idea. Eventually I decide that I’m ok with being awake but I stay in bed for the next hour watching YouTube on my phone and scrolling through Instagram. Before I know it, the familiar strumming guitar alarm is ringing through my ears, as I take the covers off and slow rise from bed feeling the cold air. From bed, I make my way to the living room where there are baskets of fresh laundry waiting to be put away. I sit down and dig through them looking for the outfit to wear today. Today is just another day at work, so I don’t have many clothing options. My work shirt athletic pants, a blue hoodie and running shoes. after I’m dressed, I finish packing up stuff to take to my parents house after work. 

Before i know it, it’s 8:05 and time to leave for the bus. i walk to the elevator and outside. The sun is starting to shine through the trees, but I can feel little bits of rain start to fall out of the blue sky. I see the bus come rolling up to the bus stop, it’s pretty empty, but I know that won’t last for long.  As we twist and turn along the Seattle streets we make many stops and people get on. As we go along the route, time ticks away as i listen to music. Soon enough we are at my stop, I thank the bus driver, get off and start walking toward the street so I can cross. i walk into work it’s 8:47, and even though I don’t start till 9 I just hang out and have a few minutes to myself. 

I walk into work, I put my purse down and put on my name tag. I’m immediately greeted by smiling little ones, and my coworker McKenna. the kids are just begging me to play with them, so I do. We play a multitude of things from puzzles to coloring to dolls, cars. Soon it starts to get busy, one kid after another come running up to the MiniMac door wanting to come in and play. This is what I do until 12. Play with and watch out for all the kids. at 12 McKenna leaves and it’s just me. all the kids are gone so I start cleaning, wiping down, dusting, vacuuming, after I just take a little time just to myself and relax before I leave at 1. From work I walk up to the bus stop and make with 5 minutes to spare as the bus comes up the street, I hop on and start going toward home. after 20 minutes I’m back at the bus center and I wait for the next bus toward downtown. I’m on my way to my parents house, they live in West Seattle when i get there i give hugs to my mom and dad, its pouring down rain so all I do is I curl up on the couch and relax after a few hours I decide I want to show my mom my Tumblr page because she had never seen it before we scroll through and talk about different posts. Mom and dad then go for a walk I decide I’m too tired and don’t want to walk. when they get back we congregate on the couch and just relax and watch tv for the rest of the night. That leads to this post. I’m sitting on my couch writing.

10 things I hate about... 10 things I like about... Day 2- 10 likes and dislikes

I don’t have many dislikes, I try to stay positive and not do things that make me unhappy, but I’m human, so of course there are things that I don’t like. 

Dislikes: Chickpeas and/or Hummus, entitled people, negativity, when people continually press the crosswalk button ( Pressing it won’t make it change any faster, really hot weather, selfishness, rodents, IMAX movies, doing laundry and horror movies. 

These are a few of my favorite things... 

Music, Ice cream, rainy days at a coffee shop, the sun coming through the window, a day at the park, Pike Place Market, Seattle Sunsets, Creativity, Broadway musicals , Walking Greenlake and live music. 

This was hard to think of things I don’t like. There aren’t many.

April Writing Challenge Day 1: The basics

It’s been a long while since i’ve written on here, but that’s why i’m doing this 30 day writing challenge. I want to get back into blogging because back in 2012 i was writing a lot and I loved it. I felt like everyday i was doing something positive and creative and it was something i had to do everyday. So here we go, day one. 

Today’s prompt: Write something basic about yourself. 

I’m a simple girl, I like simple things and I try to find beauty and happiness in simple things. I try to be as positive as possible and even when I have bad days I always try to take the negative and turn it positive. In 2008 I was in a drama production and the cast was taking part in a week long intensive rehearsal. We were working 7 days a week, all day. We worked with a choreographer who had worked on some nickelodeon and disney channel shows. The one thing he said that for some reason has stuck with me all these years was “leave your shoes and shit at the door” meaning even if you’re having the worst day and things are just falling apart, take the negative energy and emotion you have and put it into your day and make it positive.
