oh this 100% just me being a hopeful shipper but it feels as if augustus DOES love lucy romantically but just can't tell because he's never actually experienced real love with no expectations before. when you're experiencing safe love finally after a lifetime of trauma, you can mistake the safeness/lack of excitement for not actually loving them because both anxiety and love are associated with increase in heart rate. but you know, even then, there's still an element of it not being healthy if that were to be the case, because augustus is living under her roof, which creates the power imbalance of "if something were to happen, i could easily be on the streets and in danger again". but it also has the exciting element of him overthinking the consequences if he ever did realize ... heh heh heh. and then him taking out his frustration on mike, partially not really realizing just WHY the sight of mike makes him feel so angry and why some days he just doesn't feel satisfied after. also ALSO on that note, i must wonder if lucy would ever fall in love with augustus for the same reasons. her first rodeo with actually being treated NOT like a replacement or a piece of meat. because even mike's kindest moments must have an element of "he was only doing this because sandy wasn't here!" for him. but with augustus there's nothing like that at all. also wait where is augustus in the lucy pregnancy mike baby daddy timeline? i forget the name of the bci also sorry if my internal plotlines dont make sense or i have typos my excuse for all of these things is that im crossfaded asf typing this thinking about cute double decade old cats. i love u btw thank you for writing this shit it makea me very happy in my heart zone Dancing with u el digitale style

Lucy has kinda hindered her chances with Augustus, honestly! She used him as a rebound after she found out Mike got back together with Sandy in Eternal Flame! She repeated the pattern she did with Paulo - and the pattern continues to repeat as she’s gotten further and further dependent on Augustus. So I think to Lucy, her attachment to Augustus isn’t coming from a healthy ground.

Obviously things can change! Things can always change, but I feel that’s why Lucy’s feelings for Augustus are, uhh, complicated right now lol

As for the Fork in the Road question - funny enough when I drew that AU, it was before Love Again happened - which means Lucy’s closeness to Augustus woulda been a spoiler! So I didn’t include him at all. Let’s just say he got into a great school out of state and he’s just living his life now while Lucy’s tried to break out of her dependence by moving to Steepdom and going to a humble university there.

Though yeah.. I feel he’d want to help if he found out about Chloe. He’d also be facepalming at finding out who the father was lol. But I wanted to keep FITR2 simple and just had Sue be the existing friend since she appeared in FITR1. Notably Paulo and Daisy are also missing! I wanted the story to focus on Mike/Sandy/Lucy.

I do think it’s a sweet belief that Augustus does love Lucy, but he doesn’t recognise it because of how maladaptive his previous “loves” were. It makes sense!

I do! I must admit I am very proud of my Zonai/Aspect Impa, she was extremely fun to draw! The jade armor went so well with her color palette :D

he would not fucking say that, but with disability.. he would not fucking be able bodied. sick n tired of characters walking away from multiple life changing injuries without a scratch. let’s get some natural consequences in here.

give that knife/sword fight survivor nerve damage. give the character who was shot in the gut a stoma. give that fire survivor lung damage and an oxygen cannula. give that leg injury survivor a cane. give that starvation survivor gastroparesis. give that spinal injury survivor a manual chair or powerchair.

while we’re at it, give your characters congenital disabilities too, just because. give them intellectual and development disabilities. give them acquired and postviral illnesses. dare to make somebody bedbound. for me.
