Devon shook his head, he was hoping she could tell him, but it was clear now she couldn’t. “Apart from the drinking I can’t actually…I’m sorry.”
He turned his head when she got up determined not to look at her, holding the bedsheets to her body. She was beautiful yes but now wasn’t the time to gawk. With his head turned though his eyes located his phone on the floor by the bathroom door. He went to pick it up, hearing her speak but not quite processing it. When he did look at her she had her face in her hands.
Devon stood by the bed, giving her space. He would go but he didn’t know where he was. Checking his phone, he replied to various versions of “Dude where are you?” from his friends hipefully setting them at ease if they were awake and not nursing hangovers of their own. He scrolled through his phone, his instagram was clean no drunken posts had been made thank god. But seeing his camera roll? Different story. “Oh fuck me,” he whispered under his breath looking at the blurry photos, and muting his volume before clicking on one of the many videos.
It was him, with one arm around the girl that was currently sitting across from him. Both looking equally happy and equally drunk. It wasn’t until something caught his eye that he rewatched the video. Was that Elvis? Where the fuck did the two of them find an Elvis?
Running his left hand down his face he stopped. He didn’t wear rings? So why was there one on his hand? As another video played he watched, looking up at the girl on the couch and back. Was he looking at a thing that actually happened?
He cleared his throat, “I think I know what happened some of it anyway…but I’m really hoping I’m wrong…” he started the video over daring to press the volume button up two before handing Mya his phone.
Raising her head in attention to the sound of his voice, she stood up and slowly reached out to grab his phone, not really sure if she should be concerned by the look on his face or not.
Letting out a deep sigh she hit play on the phone and watched the events of last night take place right in front of her eyes. “Oh my god!” she exclaimed, dropping Devon’s phone and covering her mouth in shock only to then finally notice the ring that had been sitting on her finger as well “OH MY GOD!” She shouted again looking at her hand this time. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, this couldn’t be real. How could this happen, how did her friends let this happen.
“No, No, No, you can’t be serious!” panicking and looking for her own phone, Mya rushed past the tall male standing there to find it. “I don’t understand how this could happen! I mean I know I got pretty fucking drunk but not get married drunk..... you roofied me! that has to be it, you slipped something in my drink to trick me into marrying you”
Freaking out even more now that she’d unlocked her phone to a ton of messages and missed calls from the time in which she assumed both Devon and herself had gone missing last night, to early this morning. She even found some photos and videos of her own, and a few snapchats of the two of them that’d been sent her way. “Why me? this is so embarrassing!” she groaned out.
