To Start Again || Jazz & Lyric
Jazz was trying not to let her nerves get the better of her but it wasn’t working. She’d sent that text over a week ago, surprised that he answered at all. Art created after a breakup or major life event was always different in some way, but since her breakup with Lyric she hadn’t sold a single piece. After hearing from one of their mutual friends that he wasn’t doing so well with his art either she decided to reach out.
But this wasn’t just about the art, well not entirely. She had something to say, whether or not he would take it well was a different story. But still, she stuck to cleaning up her apartment to calm her nerves and waited for her ex-boyfriend to show up. When the door knocked she took a moment to collect herself before answering it.

“No problem” Lyric replied doing his best to play it cool, he wasn’t sure what this meeting was all about or why she even reached out to him. He stepped inside, taking a quick glance around spotting a few paintings he hadn’t seen before.
“Looks like you’ve been working hard” he added, “So… whats this about?”
Jazz looked over at the paintings he was talking about sighing, she hated them. She'd hated everything she'd tried making lately. Jazz decided to pace while she talked, it helped especially when she was nervous. "I had a thought. You're going to think I'm insane but I've tried everything else..." She turned to pace in the other direction, "You remember how we used to say we did some of our best work at the beginning or our relationship? I think I need to get back to that, creatively anyway because lately everything I've done is just...not working. Am I making any sense?" She actually stopped then, waiting for him to say something.
