event 001 : elliot & abel

“Elliot? Is that you?” Abel asked softly, a certain energy being felt from his friend. He had the horrible feeling that he wasn’t alive any longer. But that couldn’t possibly be true-- could it? It had to be whatever magic was going through the town. Whatever magic that made him a witch again. “Tell me you didn’t go and get yourself killed. Come on.”

At the other’s question, a small smile crossed his features. In truth, he hadn’t depended on anyone for the longest time –– always small favors here and there, but trust in another was a different matter altogether. A lifetime ago, they were as thick as thieves, but could the same be said now? “Maybe.” Yes didn’t come so easily, but he glanced over at Abel. “You’re busy enough as it is, aren’t you?”

Maybe. The singular word almost burned him. Had he really always been that horrible to him? It had been a while, Abel understood that, but maybe he didn’t trust him anymore in general. That worried him slightly. “Not busy enough that I wouldn’t help you, Louis.” He stopped, shrugging. “Elliot. Sorry.”

“Is this how it feels to have a heartbeat?” Julian clutched his hand over his heart, always one for the dramatic. He hadn’t felt his heart beat in over a thousand years, and while it wasn’t necessarily the worst feeling, it was different, and he hated different. “Oh God, I think I’m panicking. ”

Abel just barely looked over at his brother, raising a brow at his dramatics. “Julian, please get a hold of yourself, will you?” He asked, balancing a ball of sparks in his hand. “You’re human. Not dying. No need to panic.” Though, he did find it a little amusing after all these years. “I won’t let anything happen to you either so just-- enjoy it.”

“I suppose the saying ‘you learn something new everyday’ can actually be accurate, and in your case, every generation.” She responds with a snort, taking a few sips of her drink as she licks her lips. “That is very true.”

“Exactly,” Abel replied with a curt nod, letting out a deep breath. His situation was never something to make light of. No matter how long it had been, he still felt horrible but he at least tried to be positive. “Live like there’s no tomorrow, right?”

Although some people were freaking out or enjoying their newfound species change, Mora had spent the day in tears. Even though she wasn’t human again, it was almost as if she was, since she had regained ability to feel remorse. In an attempt to distract herself, she decided to take a walk, trying to hold back tears as she passed by people that the day before, she would have thought of hurting. At the sound of a voice, the small brunette looked up. “I am. But there’s a lot of guilt that comes with it, and…and…I just feel so terrible!” At that, she burst into a fresh round of tears.

Abel furrowed his brows at the girl before him. The last time they spoke, he felt as though something was behind her-- a lie, you could say. A facade. But this, this was real. She was actually upset. “You’ve done a lot of bad and you need to repent for it,” he said, taking her by the shoulders. “Or you just wait. You’re bound to become a demon again just as I’m destined to be a vampire.”

The minute he told her not to panic, she checked herself and reminded herself that she need to take control of her emotions. If he could tell what she was feeling, it was a red flag. It meant she was exposed, and she didn’t need to feel vulnerability. He had also mentioned that she was a Witch, so that explained the weird things that were happening around her. She’s come across a few Witches over the centuries, never did she think she’d experience being one.

Taking a look over at him, he was almost different than their last encounter, more carefree. “You look, ecstatic. “ she said as she observed him.

“Do I?” He was happy, he couldn’t lie about that, and he missed his humanity. Of course, it was easier to kill him too but he had his magic to defend himself. That’s what his mother always forgot. “I was in a family of very powerful witches before we became the originals...” he admitted, stuffing his hands into his pockets. “I missed this.” It had been a thousand years since he felt this magic in his veins. He wanted to fall into it, if only for a little while. “The best thing about it is that I can help you understand it if you let me.”

“How rude, of me, should I have asked? with the way she left, I’d say an awful partner to choose” she smiled seeing the smirk on his features. Savana picked up on that he smelled of Vampire, an older one. Savana usually was one to take what interested in her, because she put the time in, and it seemed he believed she had a different agenda. Times have changed, and she very well could have gone the more polite route, but tonight she didn’t care. Tonight she wasn’t going to be a debutante, and please others, tonight was about letting go.  As the lights flashed and the music played, she kept her focus not just on his features, but in body language as well. Noting his hands were on her back, she had to chuckle at his next set of words. women were complex, one never knows what women think, Savana was unpredictable. Whether he thought he had her pegged like any other woman, she was uniquely different and she’d show him.  Her body pressed closer to his, and she drew closer, so that her lips met his ear and whispered “and what do you know of what a woman wants?” she then moved to dance around him, almost like a predator would a prey, before finding her way back to dancing in front of him “Now are you like every other man?” she asked this looking into his eyes.

“I was hungry and you know it,” he replied, his eyes tracing her figure as she danced in front of him. If he was correct about her being a hybrid like he believed she was, she would have absolutely been able to tell that he was an older vampire, maybe even an original. There were practically no secrets with vampires. He thought he had seen it all, but once she drew him in closer, enough to smell her perfume and her breath on his ear, it was enough to make him shiver. How did he know of what a woman wanted? Especially a woman like this? He watched her, transfixed on her figure until she was before him again. “Wouldn’t you like to find out?” He finally replied, reaching out to touch her again. Women were complicated, he knew this, but he had enough time to know how to respect them. Even human ones. With her next question, he had no trouble replying while he looked her directly in the eyes. “I hope you can figure that out for yourself.”

There was almost nothing that could get Abel down. He was reminiscing, using his powers just like he used to about a thousand years ago. In all those years of life, he never imagined that he could feel this way again and he was taking advantage of it while he still could. There were sparks at his feet, electricity from his fingertips. Maybe there was some way to make it so he stayed this way forever and if there was a way, he’d find it. Though, as he noticed a sulking younger girl he met in the past, he couldn’t help but just smile. No one ever said he didn’t like to rub things in sometimes. “What’s wrong? I thought you’d be happy to have the burden of being a demon lifted from your shoulders...”

A million things were running through Savana’s mind, The main questions were how the hell did this happen? what was going on? and why? not only did she realize that she did have her super human strength, but she couldn’t hear sounds from a distance, didn’t feel thirsty or a craving for blood. It was like she was back to being…..human.

                That shook her to her core. E m o t i o n s.

Never again, did she want to be vulnerable, or feel. Everything was messing, her emotions were all over the place , it was suffocating, frustrating and she wanted to scream. Savana felt this energy come off and then a light exploded. It startled her, panicking, she just continued on , needing to figure out what was happening, but she suddenly … felt comfort? there was an energy, she couldn’t explain, but sensed it. Looking around, she figured maybe to follow it, her feet taking her to wherever this energy came from and when she finally stopped, she looked at the male. Abel.

Abel was on top of the world. He didn’t care how this happened or what was going on or why it was all going on, he just felt like he was finally normal again after a thousand years of living like a blood-thirsty murderer. He could feel the power coursing through his veins again like his blood was made of light and his heart-- oh god, his heart was beating again. 

He rose his hand up, watching as magic sparked from his fingertips and brought a smile to his face. All the old spells he knew, they still worked with his body. Memories flashed into his mind and only made him that much more powerful but fear-- oh fear he would lose it again was there without a doubt. Just as he turned the corner, he felt another energy, one of fear like his own but a different kind of fear and then also an almost devotion. Someone took comfort in his own presence and that was slightly comforting in itself to Abel. When he looked up, he realized he should have known all along. Savana. 

“So, you’re a witch too... I guess this is a whole town ordeal,” he said, leaving his hand at his side. “Don’t panic, the power will only protect you and harm others if you do.”

There were better ways to dance than this, times have changed, and this is what the people were into. A bit different but nothing she couldn’t accustom to, she had a talent for blending in, let others see what they wanted to see. She missed the lounge scene, watching singers perform live, she recall those memories as if they were yesterday. Her minds was always racing, thinking ahead, calculating, in her current state, she was just focusing on the beat of the music. Her heart felt like it was pounding in her chest, she may be half vampire, but her werewolf side still remained. As she moved to the rhythm of the beat, she watched as the female the male had danced with, left for a drink. all the more for Savana. What she did not expect however, was his hand slipping into hers and twirling her around so that his lips were close to her ear. “And who said I wanted to dance with you?” she countered, his voice sent a chill down her spine, in the good way. Savana had slipped in to dance, not caring if she had interrupted, and yet, here he was. “I’m not one to ask for permission.” she chuckled as she turned around to face him. Green hues settled on his features, my my how handsome. as if he was sculpted by the gods themselves. Savana took the time to take him in. “and here you are, dancing with me.” 

“With the way you were cutting my partner out, it was rather obvious, don’t you think?” Abel asked, a smirk developing on his lips as he slid his hands down the small of her back. What a peculiar way she smelled. There was still werewolf blood in her veins but there was vampire there too. A hybrid. He hadn’t seen one in a while. “Clearly not.” With each of the flashing lights all around them, he could see more of her features and was more than pleased with what he was seeing. Just in the few moments they spoke, he could tell they were similar. The same walls he built, she had built for herself. Time had taught him that was difficult-- complicated but that didn’t matter at the moment when they were relaxed like this. “What kind of man would I be if I didn’t give a woman what she wants?” He could play the game of wits and win as he pulled her in closer, allowing their bodies to press together and move with the beats of the music.

He was hesitant to accept his help, still –– it had been so long since he’d last spent so much time with his old friend –– but he slowly nodded. He averted his gaze, rolling his shoulders back. “I can figure it out. It’s probably nothing.”

“Alright,” Abel replied, letting out a deep breath. “Good. I’m glad.” He didn’t need him and that was fine. He’d stay a few days in his apartment and then he could move on from him like always. That would be fine too. “If it’s not, you would tell me, wouldn’t you?”

He followed after Abel, twisting the ring on his finger that allowed him to walk in the sunlight. A useful little piece it was, though he’d thought of perhaps wearing it around his neck sometimes, just for a change. “You need a break. Maybe let loose a little,” he suggested. Even up until now, Abel looked like he carried so much on his shoulders. “I’ve learned to hide my tracks,” Elliot said, albeit a little defensively. “But I hope they do. Some of them are a real pain to shake off.” He chuckled at his friend’s words. “What, I won’t steal your supply.”

Abel rose a brow at his friend. “Letting loose gets you or my family killed,” he said, adjusting the cufflinks at the end of his sleeves. There wasn’t any use in fooling around if he didn’t have to. “I know you did... Maybe more than most people.” He was never actually able to find him. He was good at hiding his tracks. “What you do in defense is none of my business. Do whatever you have to if it means you survive.” And that meant something under all those words. “I highly doubt that,” he laughed.

Savana was in a good mood tonight, she had explored the sights, and was particularly drawn to a bar/club. Many of the locals gathered, but of course, the supernatural were hidden among them. The simple fact that humans were not aware was the fun, the thrill, and such fragile things. She could have focused on messing with a few, but the music blasting through the club got her attention. There wasn’t even a need to compel the bouncer at the entrance, she flashed him a smile, and she was free to go. When was the last time she let loose? or rather enjoyed herself to the fullest? it wasn’t easy for her to let her barriers down, but tonight she didn’t care. Moving through the crowd, it was lively, people dancing and drinking, and she could see a few people gathering in a circle to watch the group in the middle dance to the beat of the song. Knowing herself, she couldn’t help but slip right in, her body dancing along the male’s beside her. Cutting off his original partner, but that didn’t matter to her, she allowed herself to let go, if only for the night. 

This was definitely not Abel scene nor was it the way he liked to dance with a partner. He was traditional in nature, always treating partners with respect but that was not the way girls here wanted to be treated. He was hungry and they needed to be satisfied if he was going to get his snack for the night. The girl had been staring him down the second he walked into the club so that made her target number one. It only took a couple words to get her to dance floor with him, leading her by the hand to the middle where he traced her form. Caught like a fly into a trap. No need for alcohol or compulsion when he had a willing participant. All of this would have been good, at least, if it wasn’t for the blonde threat that drove off his snack. He would have been angry, should have been angry, if his attention hadn’t been completely taken by the beautiful stranger. He didn’t even take the time to watch the other girl leave for another drink, Abel just took her hand, leading her in a dance together this time as he twirled her into him. “If you wanted to dance with me,” he said, close to her ear. “You could have just asked.”

“Hayley.” he was direct, she preferred that, than the whole ‘let’s play twenty questions’ ordeal.  He now had two drinks, and she was still on the bourbon. It was days like this where she wished she had her own stash of alcohol. Hayley wasn’t going to let her anger get the best of her. “And yours?”

Abel put her name to memory. She smelled of werewolf blood coursing through her veins but that didn’t bother him if it didn’t bother her that he was a vampire. He didn’t discriminate much when it came to different blood anyway. “Abel.” If she offered one name, then he offered the same.
