Are you giving free ArcTanGent tickets?!!! what?? why?

I bought them a couple of days before I got full time employed over the summer holidays and while speaking about the conditons I told my employer that I have a festival coming up and would like to have a couple of days off. She said, either I cancel the festival, or I wont get the job. The 22.08 is day of enrollment for first graders here in Germany, which is a really busy day at the place I am working at. It’s not possible to return the ticket. I tried to sell it, but nobody that I know showed interested and before it gets to waste I hope someone will want it.TL;DR: Better lie to the employer, don’t mention festivals and get a sick leave :D

Hi, I'm just wondering what it is like on a working holiday after a few months in NZ? Was it easy to find a job, accommodation ETC? I'm thinking about going myself.

I came back about a month ago. It was an amazing time there. It was quiet easy, if you know where to look for a job. Most of the time I got a job within two weeks. It depends, of course, which kind of job you want - if you are willing to stay somewhere longer than say 3 months, you will be able to get a retail or waitress job. If you are looking for somethign short term, it is easy to find work on farms. I have been working on a strawberry farm, a vinyard, a kiwi orchard and an apple packhouse. The shifts in the packhouse were shitty, but at least I got paid ;) Good websites to have a look at:http://www.backpackerboard.co.nz/http://ssco.co.nz/That’s where I got my jobs from. Also, just ask, ask, and  ask in every little Cafe or retail shop. Some employers prefer you to don’t call them, but show up and ask directly for a job. Don’t forget to take your CV with you. Accomodation is really easy to find. If you have the app Nestfinder, it will help you to find BBH/YHA hostels, and DOC campsites. Sometimes people also offer to rent out a room in their private home. You then just have to have a look at the notice boards in supermarkets.Another option is WWOOF. You work mostly on a farm, between 4-8 hours a day and you get accomodation and food for it.Do it. It is worth it… It’s like a crashcourse for young people how life might be like. You get a much better understanding of money, you learn how to be responsible and take care of so many things. And besides all of that serious stuff, you will have the time of your life, because you will get to know so many incredible people.If you have some more questions, feel free to ask :)

It has been quiet on my blog for a while now. I started a big adventure in New Zealand two months ago. I left Germany for a working holiday and now I am on the other side of thr world, where I have allready experienced some unforgetable things. I really hope I'll beat this little monster inside of me, that keeps me procrastinating and find some more wifi-zones to share music with you again.
