“sparkling water” sounds… so pure. so aesthetically pleasing. but in actuality? it is…. Repulsive
TERFs have no right to speak. Ever. On any topic.
"A woman is something worth being"
You never see that kinda statement from TERFs
I don't remember finding fart jokes particularly funny even when I was a child.
Five year old me, watching a movie with fart jokes: "Oh, how gauche. They're pandering to the lowest common denominator."
Well it being black history month is reminding me how I wanted to doodle something like this down for a while. Since it’s been a lil detail I always take notice of in drawings. These are very simple depictions but I hope it’s enough to give the general idea! Feel free to reblog
[Image description taken from alt: Drawing Scars on Brown/Dark Skin. The left illustration is how cuts and burns looks on brown and darker skin. Top level is the common depiction of using light pink to color it. So no melanin? typically not how most scars look. Of course there’s the condition of raised scars or stretch marks which could look lighter! Next row is showing how they are when scabbing which is reddish and dark. Third row is an aged, finished scar. Burns are marbled in look. They're darker than the skin tone. Last row shows how a fully or nearly fully healed scar, it's lightly visible but still darker than skin tone. Right illustration is a torso with scars with a diagonal cut to show the difference between left and right side. Left has pink light scars, healing? Or just an oversight? Right has darker colored scars. Normal. Same applies to top surgery scars. For recent surgeries that alter the areola, it is pink as it heals (nipples are pigmented on dark skin btw so it’s a weird look) After full care and recovery they’ll look normal (dark). End description.] @a-captions-blog
Hello Ice, I have a question about a fashion style, maybe you can help me. I have an OC who is a Black non-binary woman, and I want her to have a very maximalist alt style, something with lots of trinkets and vibrant colors that may also borrow from punk. The closest style I could find was decora kei; but I remember once seeing a post that talked about a similar style that originated in African-American communities, and criticized how that Afro-American style was seen as “trashy” while decora kei was “quirky” and “inventive”. I want to try and learn more about this style instead of defaulting to decora; unfortunately, I cannot find that post again or anything approaching. Would you or one of your followers have any knowledge on the subject?
Thank you for all the work you put into this blog!
I actually don't; I'll leave this here!
Hi, I know exactly what you’re talking about! It’s called “Ghetto Fabulous”! I don’t know a ton about the style myself, but as someone very into jfashion who dabbles in decora-kei, it really seems like the Black American sister to it.
Also I think this is the specific tumblr post you’re referring to! The second photo is deco-Lolita, combining EGL (elegant gothic Lolita) with decora fashion.
I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID. I SEE IT NOW
Question. Whenever I look up hairstyle ideas, a lot of them seem more...idk the right word, but I guess just marketed towards adults? Are there any specific ones that tend to be more for children?

You can just type in "for kids" after Black/afro hairstyles and it'll bring up lots!

SLAM Covershoot
Yasuke (Assassin's Creed Shadows)
See, with all the antiblack racism we've been put through over this man's sheer existence, is proof enough that he's excellent Black character design. Everyone rise and give Yasuke a standing ovation right NEOW-

Submission 1/2 for @creatingblackcharacters 's Melanin Beam Challenge 2026 - Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier!!
Another favorite manga of mine became the Big Popular Fantasy Anime this year so it's a perfect series to demonstrate how Black characters can look in an anime/manga style as the protagonists!
Qifrey's an excellent teacher and extremely skilled witch, he's also full of Secrets and Mysteries that I will not spoil. He's been through so much and deserves this life he's built with the atelier.
(I'm torn on his hairstyle though, I went with a twist-out but I think leaving it natural would've accomplished the same thing since it'd look similar here. idk idk as long as his eye is covered)
Submission 2/2 for @creatingblackcharacters 's Melanin Beam Challenge 2026 - Olruggio, also from Witch Hat Atelier!
His look is inspired by this cosplay by riverjmv on instagram, they did SUCH a stellar job and the locs work so so well for Olruggio! Please check out River's stuff, he's a great cosplayer.
Olruggio's a very kind person even if he won't admit it. He builds contraptions that bring comfort and joy to people....he also needs a goddamn vacation cuz he's like perpetually exhausted from working all-nighters (which is why a lower maintenance protective style feels like a good fit for him)
Thank you for doing this challenge again Ice, and happy birth-week!!!
