It's Been Awhile || Eli && Morgan
It had been awhile since Eli had gone to seen Morgan. As close friends as they were, Eli had let a wedge be driven between them ever since she and Jordan had begun their relationship. He never liked the guy, he was always so arrogant and cocky about every single thing in Eli’s eyes, and although he usually got along with everyone and anyone, Jordan was someone he just couldn’t stand to be around for too long. He tried to explain his emotions about Morgan’s new love interest to the brunette multiple times, but every time he did, it would end in an ugly argument, leaving the both of them hurt and exhausted. Over time it put a serious strain on their friendship, they’re conversations became shorter and shorter, the phone calls and text messages were sent and received less and less. It left Eli in a bad place, not only did he know he was losing his best friend, he had lost his job, Elle and him were no longer together, and his grades has slipped a bit, all of which was his fault.
The only person he was willing to talk to about any of it with, and the only person he felt he had left, was his sister, Mariza. There were nights he would sneak into her room and crawl into her bed only to cuddle up next to her and unleash his uncontrollable sobs that he had been holding in all day. One night as he was confiding in Mariza, she had let it slip that Morgan and Jordan had cut it off, and that Morgan seemed to be pretty upset and distraught about the entire situation. Even with their issues in the recent past, Eli still hated the thought of his best friend being in any kind of pain and immediately felt guilty that all the time he had been wallowing in his own self pity, he had failed to be there for Morgan when she needed him most. It had to be well past three in the morning, but Eli didn’t care, he needed to see Morgan, tell her he was sorry for being so stupid and letting something as dumb as Jordan get in the way of their friendship; he needed to make sure she was okay and if she wasn’t, he needed to make sure she was at least comforted.
Kissing Mariza on the cheek, he slid himself out of his sister’s embrace and went to put on something other than his pajamas. He managed to find a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans, sliding on his shoes before he headed out the door with his keys on the lanyard around his neck. The streets were empty, maybe one or two cars passing Eli as he made his way to Morgan’s home. It was only a matter of ten minutes before he pulled into her empty driveway, remembering that Kelvin usually took a five day vacation around this time of year, alone, which Morgan had to have been alone for a couple days now. He turned off his car and took a deep breath, he hadn’t seen Morgan in what seemed like months, what if she just shut the door in his face? What if she was angry with him for being the idiot he had been for all this time? The longer he sat in his car the more horrid the possibilities of what was going to happen next became. He shook his head, clearing away any negative thoughts from his mind before he psyched himself out completely and drove home. He stepped out of drivers seat and made his way up to her front door, he knocked on it with his signature knock that he had been known to do on the Benson door, not even knowing if she was awake, but now all he could do was stand on her doorstep and wait.
School. Food. Homework. Movies. Those are the few things that Morgan's days have consisted of for the last few months. Ever since her and Jordan broke it off, Morgan felt as if she couldn't find a way back into her usual life anymore. When the pair got back together after Jordan's missteps, she spent almost every day with him, trying to regain her trust in him and fix their relationship. She was fighting hard, she was doing anything she could, but she just didn't feel him return it. All along, from the very beginning, she felt that way. He wasn't trying as hard as she was, but being her usual self, Morgan pushed away those thoughts, blowing them off as her usual worrying about every little thing. Everybody had told her. And that's why she felt so stupid. "It won't work out. He'll cheat again. He's not worth it. Stop trying." Those were only a few things that Morgan got to hear on a daily basis. Mostly, from the two people that were closest to her. Kelvin, her brother, and Eli, her best friend. Now that Morgan knew they were right, she felt more ashamed than ever. Jordan had betrayed her again, but there was no one to blame but herself. Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice, shame on me. That's exactly how the girl felt. It was all her fault, she should have known all along. She should have listened. Because now she was left alone, hurt and feeling as stupid as ever.
The last few days were the worst for her, though. Kelvin was gone, and although he insisted on staying home and taking care of his little sister, she made him leave for his yearly vacation. She didn't want her brother to miss out on something he'd been looking forward all year just for her sake. Besides, it's been at least five months, she was sure that she'd be over it. Oh boy, was she wrong. She spent every day all alone at home. And usually, Kelvin leaving wouldn't be a bother, because she'd have someone to call up. That someone.. being Elijah. But ever since they had their last argument, which once again involved the boy being 100% right about what Jordan would do to her, she had not spoken to him again. She wanted nothing more than someone to just hug her. She didn't even need words. She just needed friends, someone. And she was sick and tired of letting all her problems out on her older brother, she knew that he had enough issues for himself, she didn't need to be adding up on those.Â
So, there Morgan was. She ran a hair through her brunette curls and glanced over at the clock as she did. 3:15 AM. Great. Another sleepless night, insomnia had become her only friend lately. Just as Morgan was about to lie down again and try to get at least a few hours of sleep, she hard a knock. And if a knock in the middle of the night wasn't surprising enough, she felt her mouth drop when she recognized that significant knock ring through the house. It was Eli. It was his knock. Could it be? Morgan shook her head, she thought she was hallucinating. She had no idea why he would want to come and see her know, after she hadn't even bothered to call him up and apologize for being so rude and ignorant when he had been right and only trying to protect her all this time. Nevertheless, after a few more minutes of silence, Morgan decided to get up and she skipped downstairs faster than she thought she would. Â Before opening the door, she took a long breath and closed her eyes, only to have them open up again and meet up with the boy that she had been longing to finally see again for such a long time.

If it makes you all feel better; I miss you loves...
If that was really easy….it will be lovely to see familiar faces. Funny to say; I miss the drama that went around. Kept the place busy and mysterious.Â
I know! The drama, the parties, the fights. My life is so unbelievably boring now, it's crazy.
If it makes you all feel better; I miss you loves...
I think that is a great idea & yes, it should happen very soon.
I'm glad you agree with me. I wish I could just get everyone back together again with a snap of my finger.

If it makes you all feel better; I miss you loves...
I wish there was a way I could see all of you again…
We need something like a reunion to happen. As soon as possible.
If it makes you all feel better; I miss you loves...
I miss everyone too.Â
Early night sounds really good.
That’s because you’re irrelevant, and boring.
Considering the way you are and see things, that's probably a compliment.Â
You can just say it you know
Say what? That you're a guy that girls happen to describe as hot?
Early night sounds really good.
It’s ironic how you even know what it means.
You're running out of actual, relevant arguments. It's not even fun anymore.
No … That’s all that got stuck in my head.
Early night sounds really good.
Seems like I’m not the one with a low IQ here.
It's ironic that you're the one to say that.
