She is amazing. No quarter.

There are so many undertones and so much longing and regret and unspokenness between them.

You know, a lot of times when a character cannot move on from their first love, I roll my eyes, but in this narrative I get why it can never be anyone else for either of them - why she came back six years later after (to her) he cruelly dumped her for no reason, why he still loves her. They weren't just in love. They brought each other up, they survived together. They aren't just lovers (or past/future lovers), they are family, the closest person the other ever had, the only person who ever truly stood by them, but also survivors of the same hell and mirrored trauma. Of course they can't let go.

We are back to present time in ep 11 after they fast forward the 6 years of their separation and him cruelly breaking up with her (for valid reasons obviously which we won't know until later but I think I know what happened), and I am already such a big fan of grown up Miao Jing.

Not to say, I didn't like her before during her younger innocent years like she's always been a tenacious girl, but the confidence and the brazenness of grown up Miao Jing has me in awe. She's back with a goal and she's putting her foot down this time around unlike back when he pushed her away without explanations.
