Opening reception will include performances by Juan Kanagui (BadLovePoetry), Humberto Manuel Flores Gutierrez (guitar), Alberto & Luis Villalobos (fromVillalobos Brothers), Arturo Stable (percussionist) and Miles Solay (from Outernational). WHEN: The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, April 22nd to Saturday, May 29th. The "Opening Reception" will take place on Saturday, April 22nd from 5 pm to 8 pm. WHERE: "The Point Campus", located at 1391 Lafayette Ave, Bronx, NY 10474 (next to Hunts Point Riverside Park) ABOUT THE EXHIBIT: "Hombres de Arcilla” (Men of Clay) showcases Alberto Villalobos’ collection of 43 hand-made clay masks. These masks honor the memory of the 43 disappeared students from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, Mexico. About his work, Villalobos says "for me, clay represents the fragility of life, yet the resilience of the human spirit. I hope that by giving faces to the disappeared, their memory may live on."
