Hermione’s mouth fell open, gaping at Harry as if she could hardly believe he’d just said that. “I do not want to earn extra credit from that! You have to treat me equally with the others, otherwise no one will take you seriously, Harry! You have to focus on mutual respect and understanding and not to mention knowledge a-and tests.” She said all of this very fast before it dawned on her that he might be teasing her. Oh, that…
“…You arse, Harry Potter. You might have a thing for the whole student/teacher scenario, but I don’t.” She huffed, relaxing slightly when she realized she’d over-reacted on his little joke.
Harry can’t hold back the laughter that bursts forth. She’d fallen for it just as he’d expected and the results were nothing but amusing to him. “First off, I’m not exactly worried about people taking me seriously. They didn’t for years and I was right,” he pointed out. He was used to it. He stood up and wandered over to grab a few pieces of bread and stick them into the toaster. So maybe there were some muggle conveniences in the house he’d inherited. He’d grown up with them so he couldn’t help that he liked them.
“Second, I’m pretty sure I have enough knowledge to teach these classes.” He’d already planned on doing more reading and research into the subject to see what else he could find. Harry wasn’t taking the job lightly. He wanted to do this well and make McGonagall proud. The teenager turned away from the toaster and wandered back over to her. “That scenario isn’t really my thing. I only like it because it’s with you,” he cheekily informed her. Before she could call him an ‘arse’ again he bent over and pressed his lips to hers.
