Current Project: International Diplomat and Event Manager

I can relate the project that I am current working on to international diplomacy.  When ever I am in the company of my clients, and other local personnel, I would have to sight read everybody's true intention and efficiently provide an appropriate solution, whether it requires translation, or purposeful omission of certain unpleasant, unnecessary contents. 

Very quickly also, I would have to route out the logical sequence of stopping points and arrange the schedule to suit the desire and needs of all on board, all whilst, the clients really do not have a full comprehension of the local customs. 

I have been assigned this type of project many times, each time I am more equipped and each time, I am provided more learning opportunity in PR Training.  I believe that my Father in Heaven has a very important job for me in the very near future.  I look forward to whomever He would partner me with.  I love the following passage from Colossians 3: "23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."  He knows me and guides me, I hope that I can do His will along the way.

Home Made

I made from scratch meatballs for spaghetti tonight. ~1 lb ground beef (I think it was 70% lean) ~2 chopped mushrooms, ~1/3 chopped bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, pepper, curry powder, soy sauce, chicken soup seasoning crystals, Italian seasoning flakes, 2 eggs (whole). (I think that's it!) I put on sandwich gloves and then mixed the everything together to ensure even coating. Set aside. In medium to medium low heat, a little bit of vegetable cooking oil, I pan fried the resultant 8 meatballs, turning them so that all of the rounded-balls got pan-fried. It took about 10 to 15 minutes, I think. The outsides looked brown and cooked. Meanwhile, I added store bought spaghetti sauce and in low heat added the pan-fried meatballs into the sauce. (I didn't check the done-ness of the meatballs from the pan because I was going to continue simmering them in the sauce pot.) I guess it must have been for at least 10 minutes in low heat. The sauce was bubbling for quite a while. When served over cooked spaghetti elbows and asked how they were, my son says: "Good!" Me: "What do you mean good? Are you being kind?" Him: "No, I should say they taste like 'homemade.'" Me: @~@

I shared with my friend in a Facebook post, my son over-read and corrects me: "I said they tasted like simple Italian food, like what Mr. Gordon says."

Thankful

Gus had her last 2 wisdom teeth extracted yesterday morning.  There was bleeding but thankfully, it stopped by the mid-afternoon.  God arranged to have my sisters praying for her just minutes before the start of surgery.  He never ceases to amazing when I realize how perfect His timing is! It was exhausting, though, trying to get everything cleaned and organized for her so that she'd have everything she needs for her recovery care.

Break - Playing Hostress

I spent much of yesterday getting the house ready for a houseful of in-laws while Sam was at school.  Problem with creating room in rooms that are currently living in is that you'd have to find space for the things that are there first.  Once I'd found homes for the things, I found floor space!  So the one portable mattress got lugged around as a model to see if the plan I dreamed up the night before would actually work.  Yay, I found room for 3 air-mattresses in 3 different rooms.  The investigative work was very interesting as well as rewarding.  The tasks also doubled as a work-out routine.  Down-Up-up-down-up, step around, move around, turn around and again.  Mostly, floor space was created by stacking up and hiding behind stuff behind curtains.  I love the curtains that I hung in this house full of door-less closets.  They were put up a couple years ago as therapy for dealing with the stress of sending off Gus to college. :D

The stress of "wondering" where to put everybody is no longer going to get to me.  I am glad that the Lord motivated me to take the first step in getting ready.

I referred someone who has a room for short-term rental to someone who knows of people who would be interested in temporary housing! I guess that would have been my first client! Easy and Fun!

Dorm-living inspired Experiments

Gus shared with me her new dorm difficulties. she is now in a 2-roomed-apartment-like room with a living room and a refrigerator-sink room.

We can't really call that a kitchen because it doesn't have either a microwave, stove, nor an oven.  Gus not having a car to drive certainly has new challenges to face this summer.  So, while thinking about my poor daughter's needs away from home, I conducted a few experiments on behalf of this girl who appreciates warm-meals.

While a new microwave purchase would resolve many of the newly arise difficulties, an extra rice-cooker in the house collecting dust also provide many opportunities.  Thus, experiments were conducted to test the cook-abilities of the rice-cooker. 

1) Can it be use to warm up refrigerated left overs, with simple tap water available in the dorm? -- Yes, the left over rice steamed very nicely.

2) Can it be used to boil water for tea or coffee? I think the answer is cleared from the results of question 1.

3) Can it be used to cook frozen foods? Steaming frozen snacks? - not sure, but definitely don't let it "@cook" for an hour! This happened because I went blogging for an hour.

4) Boil frozen dumplings? - Yes. But should probably remove the cooked dumpling within about 20 minutes from start of cooking. If you go away to blog for an hour, they'd turn into "stucklings"

Break - Marketablity Research

I have had to conduct an inventory of all the interesting projects that I had the opportunity to be put in charge/participate in the years between official employment. A non-all-inclusive list looks something like this: Mothering, student of the Bible, home-educator, photojournalist, encourager, chauffeur, mediator, college/scholarship award recipient adviser, student - real estate principles, practices, legal aspects, finance, appraisal, mortgage brokering and lending, financial planner, music manager, chef, meal planner, academic adviser, curtain installer/designer/maker, home decorator, volunteers of outside services @local schools and community, driving instructor, event coordinator, patio-Garden planning and designer, Kitchen remodel-er, patio-construction helper/photographer, real estate investor, Twitter user, YouTube up loader, Lotsa helping hands caring community event administrator, income-tax/accountant consultant, Interpreter, stage backup singer, travel guide, hospitality hostess, vegetable planner/gardener, Teacher’s assistant, Skype online communication, youth counselor/leader, Facebook presence, and painter – remodel-er.

A friend in human resources gave me valuable advices about getting the resume ready, whether or not I continue with the RE broker/MLO path.  And many who are currently employed at her placement of employment have both maintained the RE license as well as working full-time successfully.

I was told that I was definitely employable because I have kept up with technology over the years, involved in leadership, creative endeavors, as well as self-motivated in facing many challenging opportunities. It's a matter of packaging those "experiences" into employer-friendly terms.

I appreciated her role in keeping me motivated and accountable!  Actually, if I seek to please him in everything that I do, sharing how He helps me during this process would be considered my current job-post. As the Bible tells me in Colossians 3:23-24(New International Version)

I pray that the work through my hands are acceptable to Him.

20 hr PE course - RET

I found out that to I'd have to take the 20 hrs course from RET before the test to get endorsement from DRE for MLO.  (Look at how I am throwing out initials like a pro! LOL!)

Researching via DRE

So, since I passed the RE Broker exam on April 26th, I've been more stressed.  Thinking and preparing the next steps.  Friends have told me to call DRE and find out what is next.  So, I both checked online as well as called.  Conducting a over-the-phone interview on an empty stomach, I don't think I asked all the questions, or that I am particularly clear on how to get from point 1 to point 2.  However, there are a lot of info. out there on the web offered by DRE and DoC. 

Is it any wonder that we need to pay for such a hugh bureaucracy.  There are pages and pages of regulations on the web telling the loan broker want to bes how to get regulated and licensed!

I found out that I have 1 year to apply for my RE broker license,to get fingerprinted, and to pay the licensing fee.  Some how, I think the to pay the fee is the key motivation of the DRE.

This license would be valid for 4 years, but the mortgage loan originators license endorsement is required to be renewed every year.  And there is a CE (which stands for continue education) of 8 hours.

To get the first endorsement, I'd need a 20 hour education. 

"Pre-License Education Requirement

The SAFE Act requires all MLO license applicants to complete 20 hours of pre-license education, including the following specific areas:

Three hours of federal law and regulations

Three hours of ethics, including fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues

Two hours of training related to lending standards for the nontraditional mortgage product marketplace

Pre-license education must be completed through a NMLS approved provider. Further details

The pre-license education requirement does not have to be completed before taking either the National or State examination components.

Why am I here and Where I've been on the journey of brokering

Objective: to be able to legally and competently provide educated consultation to commercial or residential loan mortgaging and lending clients (borrowers) who are just like me.

Current Status: Passed California Department of Real Estate Broker Licensing Exam on April 26, 2013.

Previous Education: College Credits Accounting and Economics; RE Principles, RE Practices, RE Legal Aspects, RE Finance, RE Appraisals, and RE Mortgage Loan Brokering & Lending Courses 2012. B.S. in Engineering.

Previous Experience: Four Home Purchasing experiences via various relatives and seven refinancing experiences.
