"Does this mean Iβm hip?" Mase asked, eyes lighting up in excitement. "Is that even a phrase people still use?"
"i... sure, love, if you say so." arman sighs, fighting the urge to bury his face in his hands. "but no, no one says that except you apparently."

"Is it the hot hairy one? He's your date?" Syd asks, eyes glancing around the coffee shop. "You could do better."
"the -- no. he's not my date, i don't date, syd. you should know this. he's merely my entertainment for the day... and night." ocaris says with a shrug, stealing a glance at his 'date' before returning his attention to syd. "he kinda just does whatever i want, including sitting over there while i talk to you. so i can't complain."

"i... am going to have to disagree with you on that one," rio's face twists, having caught a brief glance at the man lucas had slipped away with. "but i support you so... congrats?"

Liam had been avoiding the other since he'd been back on the island. It's not that he didn't want to see the other, he craved Luc's presence in his life so desperately. Wanted his best friend back more than anything, he just wasn't sure how the other would take it.
He remembered how he died, how Luc had taken immortality to please his boyfriend -- so that Liam could live, and he'd killed him anyway. His last memories had been dying out in Luc's arms, whispering to the other it was okay. He didn't blame Luc, couldn't blame the other, and from what he had seen, Luc's boyfriend wasn't around anymore. Luc was free, and if his death had caused that, then it was worth it.
Spotting the other, his teeth tugged at his lower lip. He knew he couldn't avoid him forever, and thought it was best for him to approach the other than him to hear that he was back, to spot him casually. "Luc?" He murmurs softly as he approaches the other, and seeing the other, exactly as he remembered him, makes his eyes sting with tears. God, he'd missed him. He wishes to take the other in his arms, hold him tightly but he wasn't sure he could. "Hi baby."
after a whirlwind of a week, lucien wasn't sure how much more he could take. between the failed attempts at relocating his brother after freaking out on him and hurting nyx in ways he never meant to, the stress and guilt had gotten the best of him. these days, it seemed the only good thing he had going for him was weston. weston, weston, weston. but even thoughts of him weren't enough to keep him from getting into a bar fight. so, there he sat, alone in a park with a bloodied lip and blackened eye.
lucien is so deep in thought when he hears someone call out his name that he pays them no mind, continuing to stare out at the evening sky. then there's someone standing in front of him whispering the words hi, baby. looking up and seeing a familiar face, lucien feels his chest tighten. it couldn't be. no. he clearly remembers the other fading away in his arms.
"liam," lucien breathes out in utter disbelief. "you... i don't -- you died."
"i have always loved a pastel colour pallet," myth replied. "as much as i want to say purple, i don't think i can make my entire home monochromatic. or can i? are there rules against that kind of thing?" she laughed. "i want whatever inspires you. regardless of what it looks like, it will be a cherished gift always."
"there is absolutely nothing wrong with making your entire home monochromatic!! how about we mesh the two and do pastel purple?" sapphire pauses for a moment, trying to keep calm before the excitement gets the best of them. "or i could do like... a light beige? and have purple flowers on it?"
"You think so? Perhaps we were always destined to meet," Em has never been one to think off destiny, of fate. Meeting Jude, however, felt like something he was always supposed to do in this moment. "Darling, this is my office. I own the place, the only reason I hopped behind the bar was so I could talk to you," He admitted, a rare but light flush gracing his cheeks. He didn't often blush these days, he was usually the one that make the colour rise on the cheeks of others. The other certainly sent his head spinning. He'd been enamoured by countless over the centuries, Stefan, Clove, but no one seemed to quite captivate him entirely like Jude did.
As he watches the other study him, Em takes his time to study the other further. The deep sadness behind his arms makes Em want to hold him in his arms until they truly became one. Ached with the desire to be the one that made him happy, and to him, that was dangerous. Everyone Em had ever loved had left him, and he didn't want to add Jude's name to the list of people he'd loved and lost because he was a foolish individual not worth of love.
"There's a list," Em mumbled softly, trying to ignore the stinging in his eyes at the other's words. However, as their lips brush, Em sees stars. The feel of the other's lips against his, even as briefly and as lightly as it had been, was celestial. He revels in the feeling of Jude's hand against his own, his breath catching in his throat as the other places his hand against his neck. He can feel his resolve snap, feeling the warmth of his skin, the blood rushing beneath. He is truly gone when the other says his name for the first time, and Em wants the other to repeat it again and again until it's the only thing he knows. He wants to take him apart slowly, his own name falling from the other's lips like a prayer. "Fuck," The words slip from his lips breathlessly, and he moves his hands, exposing the flesh that Jude desired him to kiss. Without thinking, without further hesitation he presses his lips against the spot, his tongue darting out to lick at the others bare skin, desperate to taste the other. Emrys is sure Jude tastes like heaven, and is desperate to taste every inch of him.
He pulls back, his eyes meeting Jude's gaze for a moment. He can't breathe. He knows he should pull away, let the other go before he can get lost in him. Let Jude consume his thoughts entirely. He doesn't. Instead, he leans in, closing the agonising gap between their lips as he kisses the other with a desperation he wasn't even aware he still had.
"perhaps," jude replies, a sad smile gracing his lips. invisible strings tugs at his heart and he knows, deep down, that they were meant to cross paths. here, there -- anywhere. the raven and the dove. a striking white against black. destined, indeed. "your -- oh my god, i'm so sorry! you probably have a million things to do and... and here i am, wasting your time." the guilt slowly rises, creeps up his heart and into his throat, causes him to swallow thickly and look away. he is almost ashamed. embarrassed, certainly, and feeling like a fool.
there's a list. jude's heart shatters right at that moment and he wishes to wrap his arms around the other, to reassure him, but their lips brush and he is dizzied. all words escape him. the moment emrys presses his lips to judeβs skin, swipes his tongue over it, he knows he would give emrys all he has. his eyes flutter closed, his lips part in a sigh, and he wants to bring his hands to the otherβs hair. jude wants to hold him there. he wants to beg and beg, to ask the other to sink his teeth into him and leave him bloody, bruised. emrys pulls away, however, denies him of such a simple pleasure. when he opens his eyes, he finds that emrys is already looking back at him.
he is about to apologize, to ask emrys to forgive him. instead, emrysβ lips are on his and all apologies die in his throat. emrys kisses him like a man starved. jude fails to stop himself from deepening the kiss, from swiping his tongue along the otherβs bottom lip, from swinging his leg over his lap and straddling him. a kiss like this, he thinks, could make him whole. it could erase the doubts that plagued him for years. hesitant, curious, jude slips a cool hand beneath emrysβ shirt, slides it up and down β feels the contour of his abs, wonders if the man would undress for him.
"No, but," Rowan smirked, though their tone remained playful. "There's certainly no reason to be shy around me, not when one is so good-looking." They added, returning the favor by checking them out.
their cheeks flush a scarlet red, a smile on their face that matches the twinkle in their eyes. "you flatter me so and expect me not to be shy? an impossible task, really."
"don't worry, dear," mahsuri replied, offering the other a smile. she was usually eager to close up shop for the day and get home but she didn't have the heart to turn out anyone into the pouring rain. "was there anything you were interested in during your browsing?"
"no -- yes," elvira immediately corrects herself. "i'm looking for a crystal but... i'm not exactly sure which, i can't quite figure it out," she admits, feeling rather foolish. she doesn't remember the last time she felt so stumped. had there ever even been a time when she didn't know what she needed?
Weston was sure he could fall in love with the way the other spoke his name. He'd never heard his name spoken so softly before, and he almost wished he could have the boy say it over and over again. "Lucien. Um. Hello, yes, sorry about that. My brain tends to short circuit around attractive people but honestly you'd think I would be used to it, given my best friend hits on me all the time and is... very forward," Tripping over his own words, West's cheeks flushed as he rambled on.
Their breath hitched as he felt the other's touch against his skin, almost forgetting how to breathe in that very moment. "I-- oh," he mumbled softly, blinking as the words finally registered. God, he really needed to get his shit together, he was utterly making a fool of himself in front of probably the most beautiful man he'd ever seen. "I'm fine, promise," Weston mimicked the other's small smile, his cheeks flushing darker as the other's thumb brushes against his lips and he finds himself staring at the boy's own. He can barely remember the first and last time he kissed a boy, even more so he'd felt the desire to kiss another, and yet he almost ached for the other to close the gap between them -- despite the other being a stranger. "Just bumped into me, I'm all good, Lucien."
"weston," he says gentler, softer than the time before, as though he is trying to savor the way it sounds rolling off his tongue. luc would say it again and again, for centuries, if the boy asked him to. "your best friend hits on you?" he asks, eyebrow quirked. it seemed they had something in common. surveying the other, luc suppresses a laugh, stops himself from reaching out and caressing the other's scarlet cheek. "you're red, darling. are you feeling warm? do you need some water? air, maybe?"
despite them claiming they were alright, luc takes one last glance over him, brows furrowing slightly, something like worry etched onto his face. "if you're sure, but at least let me buy you a drink to make up for it?"
The world went black around them, or it felt black, it felt like darkness swallowed the world around them and left nothing behind but two stars; bright and incandescent. They will crash as all stars do, they will spew their stardust and burn out until they are nothing but ash. He could taste the ash, even now, he could feel it on the man's fingertips as he clung to Clove's arms. He was sick with it, the wanting of it, the knowing that he could have his hands on him and it would never be enough. His hands dug into the man's waist, into his neck, bruising the pale skin beneath, breathing in his oxygen like it was the last bit of air he would ever get. He could die like this, slaughtered by a man with the eyes of a lamb,
but that is not how this would end. Clove wanted to leave him bloody and blue, to hold him down by the waist as he took every last drop out of him.
He will lead him home, to his bed like an open alter and tear him apart by the brunt of his teeth. Clove knew it was what the man wanted, the crushing weight of his tongue on his jaw was proof enough but then this, light the way and I will follow. Those words echoed through the room, down the halls, out the doors, to the streets and past the miles of forest, where it finally settled as a whisper at the bottom of the ocean. It's the place Clove had left his heart so long ago. "Who are you?" He asks the night sky before he turns his mouth to his, those eyes so bright, so willing, Clove does not let the man get a word out. He's on him in seconds, in him, pressing him hard against a wall, hip to hip, bone to bone, the friction is as sweet as it is painful. He can't breathe, he can't think, he's dizzy with the taste of him, sees stars when his tongues inside of him.
He doesn't stop, teeth against teeth, teeth on lips and teeth in skin until he tastes nothing--nothing but blood. He's on fire, or he's burnt, he's in that burning house and he's just outside of it in Tiernan's arms. All this time, all those stars, all those broken plates, were they always leading here, to the church on this hill? The world roars in his ear ugly and hungry and too big for the bones they gave him.
He is shaking by the time their mouths part, he's unsure if the blood is his or the man's; he licks it off him all the same. He wants to say he's sorry, but he doesn't feel guilty for what he's done. The man is leaning against the wall, breathing hard, cheeks flushed, he looked like a painting just then. He had scarlet wiped across his mouth, wet and shiny like a cherry. Clove imagined what he would do to that mouth once they were alone. Something old, something red, something hungry unfurled in him like a midnight flower in bloom.
He sucked in his lower lip, tasted copper and grief and something like desperation. Clove smiled at him then, pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth all soft and gentle before taking his hand in his.
And like a shepherd does for his flock, Clove led the man to his home.
jude, like an obedient sheep, allows himself to be led.
he stands at the threshold, on the precipice of all-consuming desire and surrender. he is no longer himself, but the other's. he succumbs, willingly, relinquishing all control.
they are halfway through the door and he is greedy, desperate, begging. he is hands, mapping the outline of the other's body, touching anything he can reach. fingers graze over smooth skin, press into flesh bruisingly. he is teeth, biting and tugging -- hungry, hungry, hungry. his world has narrowed down to this moment. he has forgotten all else.
he wishes for the man to ruin him, to hold him to his chest, press against him and leave him paper-thin. they are entwined, blurring together, jude's want so heavy that it hurts. he could stay like this forever, he thinks. he could be crushed between the wall, under the man's weight, and live the rest of his days in bliss. the burn of his desires is slow at first, a wax candle freshly lit, but the flames spread like wildfire and soon, he is engulfed. ecstasy and agony. he is unraveled, then. with the other's teeth scraping his neck, his collarbones. bite! break! tear! his body screams and screams.
they are stained glass, cracked, beautiful in their imperfections. they are church pews, abandoned, a silent witness to a communion of souls. they are red and no confession can resolve them of their sins. "taste me," the innocent begs, his plea hanging thick in the air. take an axe to me, tear me limb from limb, are the words that do not follow. jude does not have the air, the room to speak. a sharp inhale, the dragging of fingernails against skin. sighs fall from his lips and echo off the walls, here -- there, surrounding them. "where have you been?" a mere whisper -- a question that holds enough curiosity to last lifetimes. i have been looking for you. i have been praying for you. free me from this guilt, from this plague-like grief.
they will reach forever for a satisfaction that remains just beyond their grasp. two hungry wolves can not satiate each other. they will tear and tear until there is nothing left but bone.

myth didn't think the night would ever come, but here it was and she couldn't be anymore grateful to finally be able to just relax and enjoy the night. raising the glass of wine to her slips, she took a releieved sip and smiled as she turned her head to her companion. "i have to admit, i didn't think it would look this beautiful," amethyst mused. "what do you think?"
elvira smiles at the other, taking a sip from her own glass before taking a slow glance around, taking everything in. "i think it's very beautiful," she says with a soft hum, returning her gaze to myth. "but it isn't nearly as beautiful as you."

"no, no, you heard me right. a ghost. a ghost was standing in the middle of my living room and he looked so... devasted. i wanted to hold him. i couldn't --obviously, but i wanted to. a ghost... in my living room!!"
You may have me. How many times has Clove dreamt of those words alone? How many nights did he lose to sleeplessness, to loneliness? He must have lost count by now. They haunted him, those words, left a jagged hole in him no amount of blood and lust could sew back together. Yet here they were, given freely, sweetly, by a stranger who knew nothing of him. He thought of Tiernan, then, without meaning to, imagined his parted lips, his curls, his breathy sigh on his neck. There was a universe between him and what he wanted, what he needed. There was an ocean, a storm, a broken mirror reflecting nothing but black, black, black. If he were a stronger man, if he'd been a different man, this night would have ended differently, but he was not and therefore it would not.
Instead he did the weaker thing, he gripped the back of the man's neck, tilting his soft mouth up towards his, you may have me, all of me. Then have he will. He'll drink his fill. His lips hover over the stranger's, a breath apart; he smells like tears, like devastation made flesh. Did he know? If Clove bit him, would his tongue come away open and raw? He shuddered with the wanting of it, the burn of a cut to wash the rest of his pain away.
His pulse hammered beneath his finger's, unraveling, yearning. He was so blue, Clove thought, so blue in a room full of red. He closed his eyes and pressed his mouth to his. Once, when Clove hadn't been careful about taking only what he needed instead of what he wanted, humans came in crowds, torches bold and blazing in their hands. They looked so small outside his home, so insignificant against the size of him. When they came to burn him to ash, he'd let them, he'd begged them. Take it all. Have it all. The home burned, bright as the stars in the sky, except when the sun came up, the flames did not go out. It grew and grew and grew. His mouth was ash, his heart a hole, his limbs burning, burning, burnt. Tiernan had come to drag him out, to save him or themselves, he will never know for sure, but he knows this. Those flames, that fire liquid and smooth as it ate everything around him, those torches that tore right through him, that, now that was this kiss.
He crushed him to his body, one hand behind his head, the other snaked around his waist. "I'll take it all," he breathes out, his mouth bruised and wanting as it traveled down his jaw, to his neck, to the pulse that thundered there. The tip of his tongue swipes across the skin, quickly, tasting of salt and something else, something sweeter--warmer. Maybe it's poison, he doesn't know, he doesn't care. He can't think when he's so close, when he's so warm, so warm. "Come home with me."
i'll take it all. such simple words ringing through his head. what beautiful, beautiful words -- could they mark the end of his incessant wanting? could they fill him up and make him whole? i'll take it all. he is crushed. he is consumed. he is engulfed in flames. he is burning with a lust so strong it dizzies him. jude swears the room is spinning, spinning, spinning -- swears they are still, swears the only thing real is the stranger's tongue pressed, bruising against his neck. unsteady hands find something to hold onto, they find forearms to cling onto.
jude is certain not a soul has felt anything quite like this. certain he is the first to experience divinity on earth. certain he will get on his knees and repent. certain he will learn the other's name like a prayer -- he will say it again and again until he forgets his own. until it is a rope tied around his neck. the last time jude felt strongly, so consumed by emotions was the day he left -- was the day he decided that if loving him meant violence, he would rather not be loved. the scent of blood still hangs thick in the air, still nauseates him, still makes him want to wash clean. he was dirty. so dirty. and there was lucien, so pristine. so blissfully unaware of what he'd done. shining against a backdrop of neverending red. now, he realizes, what is love if not violent? what is love if not all-consuming? beckoning -- an awakening, something deep inside him trembles and cracks open. he's afraid of what the man may find inside. would he be repulsed by jude's desire or would he welcome it with open arms, understand the darkest parts of him and lick the shards of glass?
he tilts his head, brings his lips to the other's jaw and runs his tongue along its sharpness. it tastes like sin, like destruction. he bites into him like one would a fruit. hopes to stain him like pomegranate.
i'll take it all. then take, he begs with teeth dragged along skin. take until there is nothing left, until he is hollow, until he is a bouquet of dying roses. peel away the layers and leave him raw, raw, raw. mold against his bones, feel the heat against his chest. learn the rhythm of his breathing. obliterate time. divide observations. cut into his flesh so he has the pleasure of saying i survived. take until a cloud of sparks coalesce.
teeth find earlobes, nip and tug. "light the way and i will follow." be the beacon that guides him to heaven, be his crown of thorns.

"You know, I'm just proud of you for even trying to reach out, but I think we both knew it was going to take time," Pippa offered cautiously, though she understood both sides, this was the one time she knew she ought to stay out of it. Even if it was going against her usual self. "If you'd like, we can bake cookies and have hot cocoa, I'm sure no one would say no to a blanket fort movie night...and if they do, there is the shed out back we can send them there or to their rooms."
"i know," jude mumbles, head resting in his hands. "the logical part of me knew that, knew he would push me away -- he's always been so closed off, but... but there was a part of me still clinging onto the idea of him forgiving me, of him providing the same comfort he did while we were growing up." he has to remind himself that they aren't children anymore. he has to remind himself that he put lucien through hell. jude was the reason his brother spent so many years alone.
