She tried not to take offense to that.
“The unseen war, Doctor.” Not for long though.Things were rapidly getting worse for the EVOs. The resistance while small as of now was a growing force.
“The government has been pretty good about keeping their operations under wrap. Occasionally, someone seemingly normal turns out to be much more.” Marilyn pulled him to his feet.
“Much like a county medical examiner.”
She knelt next to the man she had that had attacked them not to two minutes ago, a pressed gently against his face. He took in a breath, eyes moving just so behind his eyelids. “What’s there to you, Doc?”
She stood ans waved for him to follow. The others were moving the bodies–unconscious bodies of their enemies.
“They’ll be fine.”
Well that was all incredibly mysterious. As if he didn’t have enough conspiracies to worry about.
“What’s there to--”
He pursued his lips, mulled it over.
“No I think we’re gonna have to back track for a moment.”
She had magic fingers? These people were magic?
“Did you just pull me in to an X-men plot?”
What about those nice boring days where he examined dead bodies? That was by the book, that was a days work. He tried not to be too excited by this added level of weirdness. It was harder than it would seem.
