Hello, people of Tumblr. I hope you like what I have to say.

Or maybe you don’t have to. I’m gonna do it anyway. Because it’s too much to keep inside and I have no time to actually write it all down. I got a lot on my plate, so many things to say. But why don’t I introduce myself first?

I’m a 20-something hijabi, living the Big City Life. No need to know my exact age and place I live I think, maybe I’ll share it later. What’s important about me is that:

- I’m a Muslim woman with Arab roots, living in a Western country.

- I have a job. A stressful one, but it pays the bills so I can’t complain, right? (I’m lying, I complain all the time, sorry)

- I fall in love A LOT. It’s one of my biggest weaknesses, every time a guy just looks at me with that 😏 look, I’m planning a wedding.

- I don’t have a lot of friends, just a couple of really close ones. But I’ll tell you about them later too.

- I have a lot of different identities to deal with, so at times I feel like superwoman. Or like a fraud. Either way, it comes with challenges.

I’ll write every day. Because I just need to. If nobody reads my stories, that’s fine too. Just need to get it all of my chest I guess. There’s so much we should talk about and we never do because it’s too personal/awkward/taboo/whatever. I’m gonna share everything, uncensored. So I hope you’ll enjoy what’s coming. I know I will.

This building will be a church, a mosque and a synagogue under one roof

Imagine a place where Christians, Muslims and Jews can come together to pray. This is not the start of a utopic story but an actual plan in progress. A building that was once a church which was destroyed in the Second World War is being transformed into what they want to call ‘The House of One’. (Read more)

This Canadian synagogue opened its doors for the Muslim community

Two days after the attacks in Paris, the ‘masjid al-salaam‘ mosque in Canada was burned down by strangers, making a damage cost of 56 000 euros and leaving the Muslim community without a mosque to pray in.
