Help us save a historic synagogue!
By Ahavas Achim Cultural Center
Hello! My name is Robyn and I am a founding member of AACC, a nonprofit formed by our local Jewish community in response to the sale of our historic temple built in 1867. This synagogue is the oldest in Indiana, and the 12th oldest still standing nationwide! Originally sold in 1969, it has since housed the Red Cross, the Unitarian Church, and other local nonprofits before falling into disuse. We have kept an eye on this building as it sat empty for the last few years, and now that it has been placed back on the market we are hoping to move as quickly as possible to secure it as an inclusive welcoming educational and cultural space for our local community!
Our goal is to raise $325,000 to purchase the synagogue!
We would be so grateful if you could donate if you are able (any amount helps!), check out our website, follow us here - and please share this post! Help us save this beautiful piece of diaspora history!
