Absolutely hate it when people act like younger generations don't want to do trade work because they're so soft and delicate. You're committed to filling the trades gap, Home Depot? I know SEVERAL afab nonbinary people who, as soon as they came out as nonbinary - immediately began dressing in ridiculous hyper-femme outfits they never would have worn before.  A lot of people see this and say shit like “Theyfab” or say they are only nonbinary for attention.  After all, look how femme they are.

But to me, this makes perfect sense.  When you are forced into the category of “woman” against your will, femininity is a chore.  It’s a job that you have.  As soon as you say no, I’m not a woman, suddenly femininity isn’t your job anymore.  It’s not a requirement.  It’s just a fun hobby you can get into.  Or a little treat sometimes.

Oh my gods this makes so much sense I didn't even know I was doing it. Am transmasc but have plans once I get my top surgery to put together just the greatest Columbia costume. I've always resisted things that are "traditionally" feminine but only want them after I'm not perceived as someone who's supposed to be feminine. Too early for these revelations.

Dreamed I was explaining to my coworker how German nouns are pluralized. Also I was in the middle of a swamp because I'd followed a really fuzzy caterpillar out onto a large tree branch. I was just realizing how stuck I was when several people suited up head to toe against the swampiness began to emerge from the water-logged trees.

Met someone today who, when I corrected them on my pronouns, thanked me for letting them know. And I never considered that as an option but it was refreshing, for someone to say thank you instead of sorry.
