Well, I’m just glad I haven’t died yet. I can’t imagine a worse way to go.

I agree that it is good you haven’t died, but if we don’t find more permanent shelter we’re all going to be in trouble soon.

Not a Lucky Rabbit’s Foot || Bus 2 (or 9 cause they’re close by)

Ophelia hadn’t intended on wandering very far from her camp on her little exploration of the forest. Her day started to go bad when she tried to head back and realized she didn’t know the way. Her day got even when she heard something behind her and tripped over an exposed tree root as she turned to look. Upon standing Ophelia knew something was wrong with her ankle. “Hello.” She called out, hoping the noise she’d heard was one of her approaching classmates. After a few moments with no reply she found herself a place to sit in the shade. “Hello, is anyone there? I need some help.” She repeated every time a bush rumbled or a twig snapped, waiting for someone to finally reply.

“Well we play the kind of games that can get us killed.” they laughed, “We bother other animals, you know the kinds that can snap us in half. We swing from the vines and play vine tag. We like getting into trouble, but its easier to get away without this amount of clothing on.” they said pulling on their shirt. Kolby wasn’t used to the excessive amount of clothing they had to wear at the academy.

Ophelia’s eyes didn’t leave the road, but once to quickly glance over at Kolby. She couldn’t believe that anyone would want to play games that were that dangerous and that they would do it often. “You’re not wearing that much clothing.” She pointed out, “And I don’t see how less clothing would make getting away easier.”

“My mom and dad where always busy with stuff so I’d go play with the apes and their moms always looked after me.” they said lowly. It wasn’t something they’d normally talk about with anyone but this girl was easy to talk to for some reason.

Starting up the car, Ophelia listened and tried to rein in her questions to a reasonable number. “I understand busy parents. So what kind of games do apes and humans play together?”

“Yeah I know, sometimes I feel out of place but I was kinda raised by non humans so I’m not that out of place.” they allowed her to search for the keys, “I don’t know what that means either, the only form of transportation in the jungle was walking or by vine.” they said with a laugh waiting for the click before opening the door and getting in.
