This is where I will post 1 moth a day and give a description of it!!!

I will be posting one moth EVERYDAY, it will include a small description and a picture!!!

I will take requests but it HAS to include the name of the moth!!! That is the ONLY requirement!!!

I want to add that while I don't mind corrections and add ons about the moths please reblog it if you're going to add them and please try to be respectful about them. I know I mess up some stuff with my wording but I'm trying to make the descriptions interesting. This is just something I do for fun because I like learning about moths and it lets me share what I learn!!!

Moth #68

Todays moth is Dudusa sphingiformis!!!

It's apart of the Notodontidae family!!! It can be found in Asia, including India, Burma, Korea and Japan. It has a wingspan of 70mm, and it prefers to live in Tropical and subtropical forests along with some woodlands!!!

I hope you are feeling better from the dentist.

I have a moth genus in mind that I think needs more recognition.

It is the Dudusa genus - especially the Dudusa Sphingiformis - which look like they came from James Cameron's "Avatar" (if you've watched the movies or heard of the franchise, you'll get what I mean)

I will absolutely go over this genus i looked it up and it looks really cool!!!

Moth #67

todays moth is the Grass Eggar / Pale Grass Eggar!!!

They overwinter as eggs and are apart of the Eggar family!!! They are 42-60mm and eat a wide variety of plants!!! They live in England and Wales and live in sand dunes with light vegetation!!!

Todays moth is foxglove pug moth!!!

It's apart of the Geometridae family and has a wingspan of 20-24mm!!! it's native to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and prefers wood and grasslands!!!

Todays moth is the Festoon!!!

Its apart of the Limacodidae family and it has a wingspan of 10-26mm!!! It's native to England and prefers woodlands and the caterpillars eat oak leaves!!!

Todays moth is the Dark Arches moth!!!

They are in the Noctuidae family and have a wingspan of 38-52mm!!!! They are native to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and prefer any kind of grassland!!!

Todays moth is the Bordered White

They are from the Ennomines family and have a wingspan of 34-40mm!!! they are native to England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and prefer habitats like woodlands!!! they sit with their wings closed like butterflies!!!

Todays moth is Bloxworth Snout!!!!

This moth flys from july to augest and then again from September to October!!! It is apart of the Erebidae and has a wingspan of 28- 36mm!!! they are native to England and prefer habitats like grasse slops!!!

Todays moth is the Bird-cherry Ermine!!!

they are found in large numbers and fly from june to September!!! They are in the Yponomeutinae family and have a wingspan of 16-25mm!!! they are found in places like England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and live almost anywhere!!!

Todays moth is the black rustic!!!

This moth flys from September to October and is apart of the Noctuids family!!! They have a wingspan of of 40-46mm!!! They're native to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and live in grassland habitats!!!

Todays moth is the Clifden Nonpareil

They fly from late augest to early October and they are apart of the Erebidae family!!! they have a wingspan of 75-95mm!!! they live in places like England and wales and prefer habitats like woodlands!!!

Moth #58

Todays moth is a request and it's the buff-tip moth!!!

This moth is common in Europe and asia!!!! It was first discovered in 1758, and has a wingspan of 55-68mm!!! They fly from june to july and the caterpillars are often found eating tree and shrub leaves!!! They also have their patterns to mimic a broken twig!!!
