Teach your children to appreciate nature and love their bodies and most importantly, to keep an open mind towards things and people they don’t understand.
Stop Learning Tarot Cards Like Flash Cards (You’re Better Than That)
One thing I’ve noticed as I’ve started teaching tarot cards to other people is that they have a tendency to think that every card has an individual meaning and it is their duty to memorize 78 complex sets of meanings before they can begin reading for others.
That’s simply not true.
It’s also incredibly inefficient and totally kneecaps you when you move on to learn another deck (and try memorizing ANOTHER 78 complex sets of meanings). Cards exist in relation to one another. Understanding those relationships lets you remember meanings quicker, better understand how cards in a spread might be connected, and give much smoother readings.
If you’re learning Tarot for the first time or looking to bush up, here’s my advice after reading cards for 10 years. Please, learn from my mistakes. Tarot is a language
In the same way you learn letters and string them into words and then string words into sentences to communicate, tarot is a language you learn so your intuition can communicate more fully with you and others. And like a language, it’s often best to start with the phrases that you’ll use the most.
Practice: Go through your deck and pick out no more than 12 cards that are really calling to you and look up those meanings. Write them down if you’re up for it. Go through your deck and pick out no more than 12 cards that give you a feeling of unease and do the same. Notice any reoccurring symbols?
Tarot is a story
How you understand that story may vary on your tradition, your experience level, your aims. Most standard Tarot decks follow the Fool’s Journey through the Major Arcana as he becomes more skilled and then more enlightened. A similar pattern can be seen in each of the suits. The Court Cards are less narrative in my opinion but a similar progression can be seen.
Practice: Take out each of the suits one at a time and lay them out in a row. Read the meanings of each card and see how the story progresses. Write down a summary. Do the same with each of other suits’ courts and the major arcana.
Tarot is a system
You aren’t fluent until you know the language well enough to speak smoothly and in most situations. Similarly, it takes understanding Tarot at a high level to give the best quality readings and read without a book. No card exists in isolation and just like when they show up in a reading, you must read them in relation to the rest of the spread - it helps a lot to know them in relation to the rest of the deck.
Practice: Lay every card in your deck out like this (pardon my bad MSPaint job). Major Arcana up top and Court Cards off to the right and all the numbers lined up with the Fool and World left hanging. Pick one of the cards that resonated with you in the first exercise and look at how it relates to all the other cards in the deck. If it’s the 8 of Pentacles, what do the other 8′s look like and speak to? What do 8 (Strength) and 18 (the Moon) in the Major Arcana connect to it (if at all)? How does it relate to the rest of the story of the Pentacles? Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I didn’t realize there were so many people getting destroyed by mattresses 😂
I love these so much.
i had a more complex version of this sigil initially as well as the simplified version but i realised i liked the simple version more so!!!
✨Witch/Pagan Tip!✨
Unsure of what to do with all your empty medicine bottles???
They make perfect spell jars for any type of healing work! Especially for yourself since your prescription bottles will have your name already on them!
They also are great offering jars (or even mini altars) for Apollo, since he always likes to remind me that he’s a Doctor. Yes, Apollo you’re just like Barbie with your perfect hair and abundance of careers! 😆
I think, when we talk about cleansing and protection "routines", most people automatically think of layers of ritual and full sterilized cleansing. But it doesn't have to be. Some people might do weekly or monthly ritual cleansing and warding. But not every routine is a ceremony.
Sometimes the "cleansing" someone's referring to is just opening their windows. Sometimes the "warding routine" is just giving offerings to the warding spirits. A space being cleansed for one person might mean fully sanctified and sealed; for someone else, it might mean a specific type of energy that accumulates in a space more aggressively due to a person's circumstances, lifestyle, and practice. A space being "well-warded" for one person might mean layers of magical wards created through circumambulation with tools or elements; for someone else, it might be bells on the door, a mirror as a reflecting ward, and a witch bottle buried under the stairs.

I do appreciate those ‘do something witchy every day!’ posts, but I also think it’s worth remembering that everything we do is witchy, because we’re witches. It doesn’t have to involve candles or tea blends or meditation.
I’m still a witch when I’m elbow deep in dishwater. Sure you can use it to rinse away things you don’t want in your life, but you don’t have to. Doing the dishes is magical by virtue of the witch doing it.
I don’t know, it just feels like there’s sometimes pressure to be . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. aesthetic . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. about everything, or you aren’t doing it right; nothing could be further from the truth.
Once a witch, always a witch.
I told my friend today that Kars4kids wasn't a charity for needy children and it blew his mind so I figured you guys would wanna know this too.
Not only is Kars4kids not a charity for needy children, it's actually an organization with deep ties to Israel. Specifically it's linked to Oorah in Israel. If you're unfamiliar with Oorah the only thing you need to know about them is that they'll fund trips to Israel for youth groups/students looking to take a gap year in Israel and contribute to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
K4k sends 60% of the money they receive to Oorah and the rest goes back into marketing. They even spent like $20 million on real estate purchases in Israel.
They just got banned from advertising in California because of how they have mislead donors. Anyway if you didn't know now you know.
Uhm excuse me what!?!?
And this is their mascot...
This feels so wrong...
Y’all I’m being so serious when I say this: go to the library for witchcraft reasons.
You can usually find books on witchcraft, yes, but there’s also field guides on local foraging and wildlife, cookbooks, books that teach you how to craft and DIY, books about environmental protection and stewardship, books on how to use herbs medicinally, books about other religions, cultures, and spiritual practices. My favorite local library even has a seed swapping program and fantastic resources to research your own family history!
Go to the library for witchcraft. Please. :) <3
I think people would be less suicidal if they were allowed to talk about being suicidal without risk of being sent to the Torture Dungeon
Domestic Witchery: Blessing What You Clean With
I think I've mentioned before that I love cleaning. I mean, don't get me wrong- if my home just stayed clean all the time without intervention, that would be the dream. But, for me, it's easy to really let everything else fall away while I clean, and that makes it that much more natural for me to weave a little extra magic into the mundane tasks.
One of my favorite ways to do this is by blessing whatever I'm using to clean with. It's a simple process. I'll pause and hold whatever I'm using in my hand. Duster, rag, mop, whatever. Then I set my intention. I remind myself that this isn't just about cleaning away physical dirt and dust. I ask that it helps me to cleanse away stagnant energy, lingering tensions and anxieties, and anything else that doesn't belong.
One thing I love about domestic witchery is that it really is so simple as to use whatever you have on hand. A whispered bless to a dish sponge, a moment of gratitude for my broom. These little moments work as well for me as smoke cleansing.
”Protect the kids!” Unless they’re queer, trans, intersex, non-white, then you suddenly don’t give a shit about the kids.
they don't give a shit about any kids.
I see this "protect the kids unless they're..." gotcha attempt constantly and it's really fucking grating because no, fascists do not care about straight cis white kids either. fascism is desperate for children to exist as a resource to be exploited, to make up the numbers of their fantasy ethnostate, to ensure the propagation of their preferred bloodlines, etc, but kids as actual real human beings - regardless of their identities or origins - are not loved or respected under fascism. they are targeted for brainwashing. their lives are aggressively controlled to prevent them from developing their own thoughts, views, or understandings. they are severely punished for any failure to progress toward their future roles as cogs in the fascist machine.
straight cis white abled male children are not privileged under fascism, they are cultivated.
