i feel super sucky i'm never here !   sorry !   i'm the worst !

sorry for being so absent ...   i'm currently trying to compress a year's work into one three month course , and i can see why rebooting this blog while doing that was a silly mistake .   however , i do check in frequently and i'm just now getting a break to type this message .   anyway , i am considering putting the blog on a sort of semi-hiatus , i guess ??   though , i have the week off for saint patrick's day , and i SHOULD be a little more active this week .

listen listen okay .   laura barton is my favourite superhero y'all .   she has to run the farm all alone when clint’s away on missions and stuff , and she’s gotta take care of her now three children all while worrying about the possibility that her husband might not come back ??

( and honestly all his ‘i’m fine’ speeches only lasted so long… bc once she’d heard what happened to pietro and how it was almost clint ?????   then that fear got worse !!!!!!! )

but really though , she has to wake up at the crack of dawn every day to run that farm PLUS work twice as hard during planting and harvest time .   she has to be there to provide all that emotional support for her children ( and her husband when it’s needed ) and HECK she probs has to deal w/ the emotions of other stray avengers and shield agents ( MOST NOTABLY , A CERTAIN MARIA HILL !! )

she has probably had to wrap up her husband’s wounds and change his dressings plenty of times and natasha’s too when it’s called for .   she has to constantly worry about the idea of them being found because , sure , it’s clint’s job to keep his family safe but HER MOTHERLY INSTINCT to do the same no matter what

she’s supportive and honest and caring and encouraging and…… she’s no superhero , sure .   not everyone has fancy abilities or a heroic alias like 'hawkeye’, 'black widow’ or 'iron man’ , BUT that woman puts everyone else’s feelings before her own and is always there to be the safe place for her husband ( and even his friends if needed )

she’s not a hero but she’s MY superhero. lots of people want to be like iron man or captain america when they grow up but i wanna grow up to be exactly like laura barton .

          laura's expression is PAINED , her left hand finds her right wrist and she twists at the bracelet that rests there nervously .   she wanted to LIE and tell her they would be back , but laura KNOWS lying wouldn't make this any easier for anyone .

          " you're going to stay with US for now . "   she answers carefully .   for now , she would avoid the question until she figures out how to approach the question PROPERLY .   " you can have your own room , too .   doesn't that sound EXCITING ?? "

 Kate HATED getting into trouble ( even if the amount of trouble she got into said otherwise ) Kate knew she was MEANT to be laying low, However, she just couldn’t. She couldn’t sit back at watch innocent people suffer, so she had snuck out, or tried to because she knew she could count on LAURA for something. To stop her being stupid. She could have been arrested if she left the house, she knew that. HOWEVER, she also knew that it meant INNOCENT PEOPLE were going to suffer. She felt SELFISH and GUILTY for leaving the house all at the same time. 

          “—- I’m sorry, but I CAN’T sit here and do nothing.”

call it a motherly instinct , but laura always seemed to KNOW when one of her kids ( whether it be biological , or one of the many STRAYS she finds herself taking in more recently ) are going to do something that might just get them in trouble .   she isn't surprised when she catches kate IN THE ACT , attempting to slip out of the house unnoticed .   the mother thinks that kate should know better by now .   nothing can get PAST her...

" i know , kate . "   laura knows exactly how it feels , not being able to help or to DO SOMETHING besides stay at home and look after the kids .   but , she ALSO knows clint can handle himself .   (  she hopes so , anyway . )   she brushes the thought away before it can develop itself into fear .   " but you KNOW i can't let you leave .   you could get hurt .   or worse .   i don't want that .   CLINT wouldn't want that . "

LAURA BARTON is the wife of clint barton ( aka. hawkeye ) and the mother of their now three children , cooper barton , lila barton and nathaniel pietro barton .   she strongly supported his role within the avengers and throughout his career , as evidenced when the group took refuge with her and the children during the ultron offensive .

        hands COATED in a layer of flour , laura uses the back of her hand to wipe her forehead free of perspiration .   kneading dough was hard work , sure , but it was all WORTH IT in the end .   her kids LOVED cookies , so at least her efforts won't have gone to waste .   now came the fun part .   cutting the cookies out .

        " kate ??   would you mind giving me A HAND ?? "   laura calls from her place in the kitchen , RUMMAGING through the drawer for her cookie cutters .   it's always nice to have kate around , and laura would use ANY EXCUSE to get some girl time in where she could .   kate was like an EXTRA CHILD to her , after all .

          " sorry , mrs.--- MARIA . " she's been encouraged to call her maria , so laura supposes she may as well respect the other woman's wishes . " i think cooper's taken a LIKING to your son .   last that i checked , he wants to be iron man for halloween . "

          though , really , cooper could CHANGE his mind as quickly as tomorrow !!   it was only a week ago he wanted to be captain jack sparrow .

          " we're ALWAYS happy to have you visit , mrs. stark . "   she has a cup of coffee held gingerly in her hands , a smile playing against her lips .   it still doesn't feel right to call her 'maria' .   laura believes the woman deserves more RESPECT than that . 

          " the children LOVE having you .   in fact , i'm beginning to think you give natasha a run for her money . "

          " i'm not leaving my HOME , natasha !! "   call it her stubborn nature , but laura barton was ready and willing to stand her ground .   however , the threat looming over her KIDS was not something that laura wanted for them .

          " take the kids .   they'll be SAFER with you . "   she urges .   she's thankful that cooper and lila weren't within earshot , and nathaniel was down for his nap , so the youngest barton couldn't sense how tense she was .   she wouldn't want them UPSET .

          " i'm STAYING here .   They can drag me out of here in cuffs if they want . "
