the thing about when people say “oh i could never do that, i’m so afraid of needles!” in response to someone with diabetes taking an injection isn’t just that it’s wildly tone deaf and untrue (you would if you didn’t have a choice), but also that shots are nowhere near the worst part of having diabetes. oh, you could never deal with needles, so could you deal with immunocompromisation? what about putting in constant effort to regulate ups and downs, no breaks even at night, feeling like shit 99% of the time? how about losing your eyesight and organ function and dying 10-20 years early if you don’t keep everything under control and grappling with that as an eight-year-old in a hospital bed? no? ok.

Averell criminal with a hearth of gold and butt of every joke

I thought this Line in "The Joker" by Steve Miller Band fit him couse he can be the big bad bandit and a smiley fella that likes cooking and painting. That's what I love so much about Averell and it makes his relationship with other charactera more interesing:))
