my body really isn't happy about the constant changes in temperature...
gonna go on a trip with a new friend... he does not know about my medical problems... idk how to tell him without making it weird...
how much the weather effects how i'm feeling still suprises me
and it sucks cause like "what do you mean it rains so i feel gross?"
my friend told me he's gonna program an app for me that connects to my decently old galaxy watch and gives alerts when my heart rate gets too high!
it'll take a while but it just makes me happy
woke up with what feels like a hangover after my final exam... i didn't drink...
just the regular chronic illness stuff...
chronic pain and final exams at the same time isn't fun
would love to make friends with some other chronically ill people!
some stuff about me:
i'm 19 and diagnosed with dysautonomia. i also got some chronic back pain and other stuff i'm trying to get checked out
feel free to message me if you aren't some creep :)
why is chronic illness so difficult to understand for healthy people?
like "yes, i am ill everyday"
"no, i will not be getting better soon"
me: "i'm so fatigued and my brain fog is pretty bad"
healthy person: "stop complaining, i'm tired too"
your "tired" is not the same as my fatigued! sleep won't cure me, this is not how it works!
my back pain is so bad today idk how i'm supposed to do things or even sleep!
i'm already doing physio therapy so idk what else to do about it at this point
really tired but making sure to stay awake until the point of exhaustion so i hopefully actually fall asleep
recovering from a simple cold really takes incredibly long when you have a chronic illness...
like please i wanna be able to do at least some things again
any tips for what helps with insomnia?
Commiserations. Sorry youāre going through it. Me too. I have always struggled with sleep. For a while I was going better, but I have developed cfs and now can barely move during the day so Iām rarely tired at night and often struggle to get to sleep. Iām a night owl anyway, always have been.
I listen to audiobooks at night - sometimes it helps me drop off. There are particular ones I like, particular voices - I can tell you which ones if you like though I guess itāll be different for everyone. If I donāt sleep, then the audiobook can at least help to keep me from slipping into rumination. If I am listening to audiobook and resting in bed, and not ruminating, then at least I am resting.
My only other thing (and I understand that this may not be helpful) is cbd oil. In the past, Iāve taken it before bed and itās helped, though I would be careful with it myself.
Have you found anything yourself that youāve tried and sometimes works?
Good luck
i'd love some audiobook recommendations, thank you!
i'm mostly trying to not spend the whole day even if it means just sitting on the couch instead when i'm not feeling well. otherwise i always felt like i wouldn't get tired in bed at all.

"Why do I feel sick" my brother in christ you have a chronic illness
having insomnia when having a chronic illness sucks!
my chronic illness flares up cause i don't get enough sleep, but i don't get enough sleep cause of my chronic illness
"omg do you have a hangover?"
nope, just a chronic illness
