Last night I couldn't sleep so I randomly watched The Truman Show for the first time ever and not to be such a girl who watched I Saw The TV Glow before The Truman Show but wow, got some real I Saw The TV Glow vibes

Also works well with the theory that Truman knows his world is fake from the start of the movie but is testing and seeing who around him can be trusted, because maybe they need to escape too! When he finally realizes that EVERYONE in his life, even his oldest friend, are in on the whole charade and are keeping him trapped, he finally resolves to leave by himself.
Like idk I think as someone who was told "there weren't any signs" that I was trans, and like yeah I spent years doing all I could to hide it, well idk it feels relatable
