Different iterations exploring yellow and white along with black

Semi final animation tied with poster + spreads
Semi final spreads tied together with the poster
Poster semi final
- I really liked the light blue, I found it represented a vibrant and intelligent color
- added the yellow line for depth
After I created the semi finalized version of my poster I experimented with my colour. I tested out yellows and blues because I think that they are both able to represent the motivational energy my convention is trying to express.
Going in depth, I considered blue because it is an intellectual colour that gives off a calming feel which visitors at my convention could feel. And the pop of yellow is to represent an energetic, happy and eye catching visual
A semi finalized mockup work in progress after last critique. I was told to revise to declutter the lines in the back and create more contrast with the white text. So what I did was create more rounder pathways that almost make it look like roads to align with my concept. I used thinner lines in the back so it wouldn’t take too much attention away from the white text
Story board sketch for both animated directions
My animation video sketch for Direction 2
The letters appear in a unison
My animation video sketch for direction 1 The letters connect to each other
Work in progress spreadsheet drafts
Left is direction 1 and right is direction 2
From previous critique, I was shown that I didn’t need to use that much space and that the absence of it could emphasize the elements of my directions some more.
For the bottom iteration of my poster which is supposed to show unity of type, I decided to fill up the page by trying to make it look like the letterforms were piecing together
First two iterations is continuing the direction for connecting the type. The 2nd did not develop because I felt like a serif typeface did not suit the elements. From the previous critique I was told to work with proximity so I spaced out the letterforms some more.
The bottom iteration is continuing the direction for a unity with type. This time I put more contrast with black. I still think I need to push it further though
My first iterations for my two poster directions.
Left is trying to connect the type and right trying to unify the form of the type
