So med school started

So I know I haven't posted anything in quite a while, and it's because I've had a lot more to do over the past few months. A little more than a month ago, I actually managed to secure myself a job in retail! Which is a little harder than I expected it to be, simply because I was expecting to be working for a clothing store but shoe stores offer a more personal experience. Unfortunately, this beginning of working coincided with my  1. mid-semester break

and  2. the beginning of where my exam preparation/assignment preparation Hence, I have not seen my family and friends from Melbourne for what seems like a ridiculously long time, and I am rather behind on what I had hoped to be at with schoolwork. I have an assignment worth 60% that is due on Monday (aka today), and I haven't completed which is pretty scary. But I'm sure I'll push through. A couple of my friends and I also started a band around 2 months ago! We performed at a fundraising festival type thing organised by UQ medicine, and although nothing went as planned (we could barely hear the guitar, started on the wrong key for one of the songs...), it was really fun! I heard a recording that our friends made of us, and to be honest it was definitely not our best performance. I have a recording we made in the church we usually rehearse in, and it sounds ten times better! But that's also probably due to the fact that the church had amazing acoustics for vocals, while where we performed wasn't made for the gorgeous echoey sounds that churches (and bathrooms) make. I have also stopped my makeup ban, which led to some pretty bad spending habits. One of my more recent purchases was the Lorac Mega Pro, which I might do a separate post on because it's beautiful! For those who don't know what Lorac is, it's a company created by a makeup artist that specialises in gorgeous, buttery, pigmented eyeshadows. The Lorac Mega Pro is/was a limited edition eyeshadow palette with double the amount of shadows of a normal palette, for only around $20 more than the normal palettes price ($40). Unfortunately, I'm not sure if you can get it anymore (I got mine from Amazon) unless you want to try Ebay, where I guarantee you'll probably be charged double the original price (boooo).

The eyeshadow on my eyes in the photo above is actually from a super cheap palette I bought from Sportsgirl. It was only $5, so I thought why not... I personally probably wouldn't recommend this palette actually, ot to a serious makeup person anyway, mainly because the only other eyeshadows I use are from the Urban Decay Naked palettes and these just pale by comparison. They are nice, sophisticated, shimmery shades but I found that I had to pat on the shadow with a sponge applicator or my finger rather than using a brush in order to get the type of pigmentation I was hoping for.

Seriously, as somebody who is relatively good at the flute let me tell you that that is really fucking difficult. REALLY FUCKING DIFFICULT. That’s like the flautist’s equivalent of trying to talk normally whilst breathing in: it just isn’t doable. This guy is using some freaky fucking sorcery. As if that weren’t bad enough: HIS FINGERS ON THAT LAST BLOODY SCALE HOLY SHIT. HOW CAN YOU MOVE THAT FAST. I CAN’T EVEN DO F BLOODY MAJOR THAT FAST AND IT’S THE EASIEST BLOODY SCALE WE HAVE HOLY CHRIST.
