Daisuke grinned broadly as he shuffled up the stairs and down the hall leading to the apartment, plastic grocery bags crinkling as he moved.

Reaching the door, the gogglehead rummaged in his pocket for his house key and made his way inside.

“Ken! Where are you?”

The kitchen was spotless, just as it had been this morning before Daisuke had left. He dropped his shopping onto an unoccupied section of counter and immediately began rummaging through his purchases.

amigos! i’m quitting my job in the next couple days so i should have a little downtime before i start something new! and i can rp again hopefully!!

i’ve been in the job im in for 5 years now and it’s… it’s stress and it’s difficult and my centre manager has been pushing me to leave for a long time through intimidation and bullying as she really doesn’t like me.

i guess the best way to phrase it is that this job.. It’s taken all the Daisukeishness outta me. yknow? i've felt myself changing over the course of the past year and i don’t like it. not even a little. there’s a ton of factors there like my parents’ divorce and anxiety etc but I feel like the biggest cause is my work.

anyway. i hope leaving this job is gonna help in getting me back to myself. my old happy, chatty, vaguely- annoying self.

SO YEAH. let’s do this! wish me luck!

Daisuke watched as Sora fell into her own thoughts. He leaned back on the kitchen stool and used the last of his pancake to scoop up the remainder of the maple syrup on his plate. He glanced around to the mixing bowl, noting there was some leftover. Seconds were at the forefront of his mind before Sora spoke up again.

“Similar? How?” He asked curiously.

“Well,” Sora began, “seems like we both learned an awful lot about cooking while staying home by ourselves. I don’t know how it was for you, but my mom used to work long hours. I’d often end up having to make myself dinner, even as a kid !”

Years ago, Sora wouldn’t have remembered the alone time so fondly. It wasn’t until after her time in the digital world that she learned to see the positives in it.

“I guess that’s true,” Daisuke hummed, scooping some syrup onto his index finger.

The gogglehead thought back to the long hours his parents used to work. It was usually Jun and him home alone. He never thought of that in a sad way, it was the main reason he got to play video games instead of doing homework! As he had gotten older, he had been out with the other Chosen much of the time as well, so he never really felt the impact.

The gogglehead’s brows twitched upwards at Sora’s question. He swallowed slowly and shrugged, “My mom taught me the basics,” He replied, “Toast, pasta, y’know? Everything else I kinda taught myself. I practised any time I was home alone. My parents didn’t like me messin’ up the kitchen” He chuckled.
