How often do you talk to your family?
I talk to them about two to three times a week on average. I talk to my sister the most, then my dad, then my mom. It all depends.
are you ok?
I am. New house, new job, new friends. I’ve also been waking up feeling rested, which is a welcome change. I’m back in the gym (about to head to the rock gym in a few minutes), and I’m eating much better. Life has a very funny way of working it’s magic.
What was your coming out process like? How old were you when you did it?
Ahh this requires a longer post. Maybe I’ll answer it fully one day. Basically my mom asked me about my girlfriend I had when I was 19, who was “just a friend” at the time (that’s what I told my parents). My mom knew I was lying and called me out. I explained everything. She was upset and cried. Then I told her not to tell my dad but she did anyway. He didn’t talk to me for months because he thought I was terminally ill. He got over it after a lot of education and after finding a letter I wrote to him. All is well now.

Life is, at the very least, ruthlessly surprising.
“As a child of divorce, I am endlessly fascinated with finding the perfect formula for making it work, but I think the biggest lesson I learned is that there aren’t any rules. [As Indian guru Osho said,] ‘Love never becomes wise, and that is its wisdom.’ Sit with the discomfort. Don’t run away from it. Lean into it, take your time with it. So many people jump into things just because they can’t stand the discomfort of not knowing.” -Emma Watson
