An open letter to @paulfeig and the 2016 Ghostbusters cast
As a cosplayer who does charity events and appearances I am no stranger to the negative comments that people spit. "You're too fat/skinny/tall/short to be (insert hero name)" "That looks like they bought it at a Halloween store." "Did you make that yourself out of stuff you found in the trash?" To the cast of Ghostbusters 2016 I want to say, I support you. I will stand by you. What you did was wonderful. Publicity stunt or no you and the members of your team decided to do something GOOD for other people. Never let anyone take that away from you. A single smile from a child is enough to outshine 100 negative comments.
Why the name “I Eat Mousetraps”?
A lot of people have been asking me how on earth I got the name I Eat Mousetraps. I'm here to set the score straight. It is not an inuendo to a woman's body part, no I do not actually EAT mousetraps (Who would? That would hurt!!) and I do not recommend any of you attempt to actually eat a mousetrap either!!
No, how I got my name has a much more personal and humorous story. When I was in high school I was living at my Grandma's house for a while. I knew this guy from England named Richy. We were really close friends back then and would do video calls on skype and MSN all the time.
I met him in the MySpace chats- this was back when you could create your own rooms. The room I went into was called "The Drunken Clam" (anyone who watches Family Guy will understand) I had this awesome group of friends who would come in every day... Patience, Senor Bull, Markus, Bobby..etc. When I first met Richy we fought. I thought he was an arrogant British idiot and he thought I was an air headed Yank. We bickered all the time. But eventually... we became really good friends through that bickering.
So.. back to the webcam thing, I promise- it still doesn't get dirty! One night while on cam to him I told him I would be right back because I wanted a snack. I came back a few minutes later with a stack of Graham Crackers. For those of you who DON'T know what a Graham Cracker is here is a picture!
http://www.foodsubs.com/Photos/grahamcrackers.jpg
A Graham cracker is basically a sweetened cracker that usually has a thin layer of dried honey and cinnamon. (VERY good with milk!!)
Evidently they do NOT have Graham Crackers in the UK. (I wrote this probably 5 years ago and I have since then discovered that this is untrue- they just aren't very common.) So once I got on came he had no idea what on earth it was and asked:
"What on earth are you eating, a Mousetrap?!"
And thus it became our own inside joke that- yes I eat mousetraps, and I eventually changed my MySpace name to "I Eat Mousetraps!!" and it has stuck with me ever since. To shorten the name people usually call me Mousey or Mousetrap.
I don't talk to Richy anymore. But I kept the name because it's a fond memory and it's quite the conversation starter.
And so that is how Mousey got the name "I Eat Mousetraps!!"
Some of the photos we took today and some behind the scenes shots from my shoot today. :)
Photoshop edits from my Photoshop Contest- everyone did amazing! :D
What's the number one question you get asked as a cosplayer?
Question posed to me from my tumblr page. It was a private message but I decided to answer it here as well. If you have any questions you want to ask feel free to leave them in the comments below or PM me! Q: What's the number one question you get asked as a cosplayer? A: Great Question! Lately I've been asked " Do you really go ghost hunting?" While I do not actively ghost hunt I do enjoy places like Mansfield Reformatory and the occasional haunted place visit. There are several other members of the Ohio Ghostbusters who do though!
Photoshop Contest 2015!!! Win a $50 gift card!

Working on my Astrid Cosplay- hopefully to be done by C2E2
Work work work
Haven’t had much to update here in a minute but since so many people are following now and reposting or liking "that one Super Girl pic"... I figured if post SOMETHING so you guys still know I’m here. Also. Thanks for all the follows guys!! ;D
Today I was at Super Hero Camp Challenge! Expect some more awesome pictures from that.
Haven’t worked on the Worbla much. I need a heat gun and a place to actually work on it that’s not inside my apartment. I don’t want to start a fire! So I’m waiting for my complex to approve me a garage. Should be sometime in November.
I might start on some small pieces before then though.
Aside from that- anything you guys are looking to see more of?
More pictures from the Super Hero Camp run. I love my super hero family. : )
Easily one of the BEST shots to come from our Heroes Alliance event today. If you don't get the reference. look here: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120229210351/marvel_dc/images/5/55/Superman_Earth-One_003.jpg
I'm kind of up to my neck with people being negative about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
I see a lot of people complaining if someone does the challenge, posts the video and doesn't donate. We all know that the ice bucket challenge is going viral. And it's raising awareness. And it's working. They have made SO MUCH MORE money this year. How is this ANY different than any time I'm at an event like Walk for Wishes or something like that for Heroes Alliance and I don't or can't donate anything but my time and costume appearance?? Does this make me a shitty person that people are going to spit on too? We are raising awareness. I'm drawing people in. I donate when I can. But I can't always give money. Sometimes and ESPECIALLY in this instance, awareness can be worth just as much as the money, food, toys that are donated. Let this be a good thing because that's what it is. A good thing. Don't turn it into a battle of who's better than who because of how they decide to help. And if the argument is that I'm waiting to be challenged to do it? Yeah- I was waiting.... until I got my freaking paycheck. Sorry I don't just have $100 to drop on a whim.
Exciting news!!!
Heroes Alliance was nominated by Costumes With A Cause for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - that includes me!! I'll be doing it in costume this Sunday- look for the video soon! And yes. No matter what I'll be donating. Not sure if it can be $100 but I might be able to swing it.
I have 34 followers already!
Thanks for the follows guys! I’m going to start working on my Worbla breast plate this week. Anything you’re interested in seeing or asking?
