sidney crosby | pittsburgh penguins
At only the age of twenty-five, you've never been more satisfied than your own life as you made your life walk into the most popular league in the world.
You were the second woman to enter the NHL when you got drafted to your favourite team.
Not to mention, you were amazing. Better than others who had better skills than you but you proved them wrong and showed them the correct way.
On the ice, you never fought with anyone when you first time stepped on the ice and ever since everyone was calling you names. But you showed them that it didn't really affect your feelings nor your future especially.
On the other side, you've made a lot of friends when you introduced yourself and broke the news again.
You hadn't realized that it was a big deal until you saw yourself on television with people cheering on for you.
You remembered the first time when you scored your first goal, your first hat trick, your first everything with the team you loved.
You had appreciated the staff, the fans, your family and your friends every single day of supporting you.
They were amazing to have you and you adored all of them so damn much no matter what.
Even though, they put you some things that you had to dealt with by yourself. Such as the Golden Boy hating on you.
You never knew why he hated you despitefully ever since the Penguins selected you in the first overall, fourth round.
You tried and tried to figure out why and how. But nobody had helped you because you knew something was up with him.
You knew and wanted to talk to Sidney so badly but you decided to let it go as you realized it was none of your business at all.
But the image of him was stuck in your head ever since and you avoided every way to not see him as he was doing the same thing to you.
You just wanted to know why but you felt more discouraged when no one was trying to help you out.
All of a sudden, you shook your head quickly and swallowed harshly.
"Shit." You whispered through gritted teeth as you clenched your hand around the phone.
Grabbing your bag and heading outside, you locked every entry of your house and later entered into the bus that was parked in front of your house.
You sighed and searched for a seat that was available but suddenly, you locked eyes with the one and only, Sidney Crosby.
He had a blank look that was on his face, giving you something but you didn't know anything. Before he turned his head, I passed him and sat a couple of seats away from him silently.
Then, as, you scrolled on any social media page and Instagram page especially, you found nothing but the preview video of yourself scoring a hat trick that happened a couple of days ago.
You smiled and then continued scrolling until you became bored all over again. Since the boredom got to you, you decided to post a funny picture of you and Malkin doing a duck face but failed.
You chuckled at it and closed your phone, digging it into your bag as you turned your head to the side. You looked out of the window and exhaled sharply, your mind somewhere else.
Just then, you felt something sink into your seat deeper, making you turn your head quickly to reveal the person you didn't expect to sit with you.
Your eyes widened but then raised your eyebrow in confusion. "Excuse me? What are you doing?" You told him in disbelief and he just sat silently, clenching his hand visibly as he deepened into his seat beside me. "You're not going to join my seat when you're being a bitch to me." You hissed at him and rolled your eyes from the back of your head.
He ignored you and gave you a blank look, causing you to groan quietly and avoid his intense eye contact that was starting to begin with you.
You swallowed hard and settled your hand on your cheek tiredly until you hitched your breath, feeling his gaze on you.
"Stop it." You whispered as you snapped your head at him.
He didn't do anything for a split second until he lifted his eyebrow. "Stop what?" He finally spoke.
You exhaled. "Stop staring at me. I don't like it." You snapped in disbelief and frustration and muttered something under your breath.
He mumbled back a 'fine' before he slightly nodded his head, breaking his gaze on me. You sighed in a relief and turned back your head to the window. But you sensed it again.
"Stop it, Sidney. This isn't funny anymore." You were serious. It was so annoying that you wanted to slap him across the face to knock him out.
"I'm not doing anything." He shrugged as he lightly chuckled under his breath.
As soon as you were about to open your mouth and curse the world out at him, the bus stopped and you quickly stood up so you could run away from him.
You grabbed your bag and passed some of the guys but you roughly bumped your shoulder against Malkin's accidentally, making you widen your eyes and apologized to him. But he cut you off as you opened up your mouth.
"Hey!" He yelled in his deep Russian accent and you chuckled but shivered quickly when the cold breeze hit you.
It was mid-winter and partly your favourite season. You loved it when you were a little kid and you could remember every memory you had when it was your favourite season.
You smiled brightly and ran to Guentzel as he walked by himself quietly. Then, you waited beside him and noticed the sad look on his face. You lowered the smile on your mouth as you dropped your shoulders in frustration. You knew he was in a bad mood and you wanted to help him.
So, you bumped his arm to lighten up his mood as he darted his eyes on you from his phone.
You smiled sweetly at him and still noticed the sad look. Yet, he returned a dry smile at you. You sighed and slightly frowned.
"What's wrong?" You asked him.
He shrugged and avoided eye contact as he stared somewhere else around.
"It's nothing." He responded and locked his phone into his suit pants pocket.
I swallowed hard. "Tell me, Jake. I know something's bothering you." You said and entered inside of the arena, the warmness now covered with your body.
He sighed. "There are rumours about you trading to another team. And—" What?!
"What?" You exclaimed loudly as you cut him off.
"There's a lot of rumours about you, Y/N. I don't want to throw our friendship away." He said and I exhaled, shaking my head.
"Don't worry, Jake. We'll always have the best friendship nobody can take from us." You smiled and bumped his shoulder again until you saw a small smile creeping upon his face.
It worked. You grinned at him brightly and discussed a few things about us and our future choices. Until you noticed Jake crossed his eyes on someone else behind you, you frowned and stopped at mid-sentence you were talking about.
"Um, Y/N. Can I talk to you?" A familiar voice came softly.
You frowned and turned around, seeing the person who called you out. Your eyes widened and your lips parted quickly.
"Um, sure?" You were unsure. You didn't know why Sidney wanted to talk to you.
He nodded and walked, hoping that you would follow him but you gave Jake a 'what-the-hell-is-going-on-?' look and he shrugged his shoulders in response.
Then, you followed Sidney and kept thinking to yourself another what was going to happen as you guys walked together silently until he pulled you somewhere else away from the guys.
"What?" You said rudely and crossed your arms to your chest, waiting impatiently.
"Why do you hate me?" He suddenly said and gave me a look that I couldn't know.
You raised your forehead and opened your mouth wider in shock. You chuckled and shook your head as you looked sideways.
You couldn't believe what you heard when he said that. "Are you kidding me?" You softly said and he just shook his head.
You scoffed. "I've spent my life here for years and you did nothing but be so fucking rude to me. I hadn't even done anything to you and all you just give me is just a dirty look and not even a hi every fucking time you look into my eyes." You paused. "You know what, you're just becoming a jerk every time I see you because fame is all you want and I've realized that. Maybe I'm just too dumb to realize that maybe you were going to be a good teammate but I thought wrong...I don't wanna see you tonight." You sighed tiredly and walked the other side but halted when he called you out.
"Wait, Y/N." He suddenly said and ran towards you as he wrapped his hand around your arm.
"What?" You snapped and swallowed hard. You didn't want to be near him and not see him after your speech. You had enough and exhaustion through your body that is until he kissed you.
Your eyes widened and gasped in shock. You didn't react for a split second before you pushed him away.
He looked at you with guilt and covered his hand over his mouth, his eyes filling up with a lot of emotions.
You pursed your lips and swallowed greedily. Then, thinking without a second thought, you pushed yourself against him and slammed your lips on his which he instantly reacted.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, he then found his hands through your waist as he pulled you closer, the gap between you two vanished.
But sadly, the make-out session ended when you heard loud whistles and cheers and you slightly flinched as you stopped the kiss.
"My favourite people are finally together!"
"Where're my twenty bucks, dumbass!"
"Yes! My favourite new couple!"
Everyone rambled on their words quickly and you and Sidney chuckled as the guys ran towards you and hugged you both.
"So are you guys finally together?" Letang asked curiously as he darted his eyes between you two rapidly.
You pursed your lips and slowly narrowed at Sidney silently. As you two stood quiet, you heard nothing but hard breathing and small whistles.
"We haven't talked about that yet," Sidney said and the guys immediately groaned in frustration.
You laughed and shook your head to yourself. "Yeah, we need to talk about it alone." You told them.
"Ok." As they said, you and Sidney thought you two would have some alone time but you realized that they were still here so they can eavesdrop on your conversation.
"Alone, guys." Sidney shook his head at them and they nodded in sync, all exiting the room at the same time.
You chuckled breathlessly and later pursed your lips awkwardly as you slowly darted your eyes at him.
You chuckled and shook your head for him to go on first which he approved.
"Y/N, the only reason that I was being rude to you is that I was scared to show off my feelings towards you and I didn't know what to do about it but the only option I had was to be rude to you. What I mean is that I like you..." he paused, a smile slowly creeping upon his face.
Your eyes widened and your lips parted in shock. You couldn't believe it. The Sidney Crosby likes you and you felt the insides of your body explode in fireworks.
"I like you too, Sid," I said with a chuckle and he instantly widened his smile.
But he frowned. "Are you just saying that because you don't want to break my heart?" He suspiciously asked you.
You chuckled. "No, I mean it." You declaimed and he exhaled with a relief.
"Ok, good." He smiled and hugged you tightly before you two heard a click and loud applauds once again, this time louder.
You were lucky. To have the guys and the superstar you were hugging. Who later became your husband after two years as you were expecting your first baby and Sidney couldn't wait to tell the baby the history he had with you. That, you've never been more delighted in your life.
