Please help me keep my kitten!
A month ago, I’d gotten my first cat in three years, two of which I spent without a stable place to live. Ellie is just three months old and already, she is an essential part of my family, one that I would be absolutely heartbroken to lose and right now, I’m in danger of having that happen.
When we first moved into our new apartment, our landlord said that we were able to have cats without a deposit. I was thrilled and started looking right away, we’ve had her for a few weeks with no issue, and now, today we got a call saying that we had to get rid of her, as no pets are allowed within the building.
Our landlord lied to us from the moment we moved in, said cats were perfectly fine to have, then went back on his word and said they weren’t allowed after all. When we called him out on the fact that our neighbour has two, he changed his tune and said that we had to pay a $300 dollar deposit instead. If we don’t comply and continue to keep a cat without paying him, we could face an eviction.
I absolutely cannot lose my cat or my home, and we have nobody able to keep her for us while we try to come up with the money. Right now, we can only spare $100 dollars, and we have only a little over a week (July 10th) before we have to either pay up or get rid of her. I am trying everything I can to come up with the rest, but I can’t do it alone and I would so, so appreciate it if I could get Tumblr’s help with this, please.
