Jak and Daxter (and Keira!)
A work in progress with some artistic liberties- love love how the headgear looks
Jak and Daxter doodles!
The inside voice did not, in fact, know what it was doing
"Bring hope back to our city"
Been on a Jak 2 kick recently. Love me some Jak and daxter. I'll bring it back to Sly eventually, so don't you worry lol.

he is very ears
Torn I'm sorry but the Zoomers in Haven have worse steering than the one Keira put together, how do you expect me to drive for you
Honest to god "came back wrong" is one of the sexiest tropes there are. Especially if the catch isn't "oh it's not them after all, it's just a monster wearing their shell" but instead it IS still them, just changed. Irrevocably so, perhaps in grotesque ways, but at the core of it all, past all the whispers and strange looks behind their back, past even their own self-doubt - lies a small part of the person they used to be. The very part that counts.
Yeah, get driven to near-insanity by what you lost and can't get back. Struggle with your identity, your own skin. Ask yourself every day and every night, was it really worth it?
And then, find the strength to eventually answer, yes, yes it was.
Despite everything.
It's still you.
Put on your raincoats cause this is gonna make you cry
So I'm out here translating all the Precursor writing in the Jak games (as you do) AND

Jak and Daxter:
The fandom doesn't have enough fun with the fact that Jak is from like 300 (general consensus I've seen in the fandom) years in the past:
Kleiver walks into the vehicle bay and sees Jak fixing up one of the buggies, humming a tune that Kleiver recognizes as an old sea shanty his grandfather used to sing, one that his grandfather passed down from his own gramps, etc.
Jak is in haven for some mission or another and Torn tells him about one of Haven's archeologists uncovering an old diary of an explorer from Sandover and how it's mostly full of the guy rambling about his 'best buddy' and Jak is like "Oh yeah, that was my uncle. Well, I guess he just called himself that, anyway that guy was actually his husband and he made the most kick ass braised yakkow ribs in Sandover." Que Daxter licking his lips and wistfully patting his stomach.
Ashlyn tells him about a 'sacred site' not too far outside of what used to be Dead Town (which used to be Sandover) and he just barely manages to brush off his chuckle as a cough. Later he asks Daxter if he thinks they'll find that shitty doodle of a lurker shark eating Samos that his friend carved into the wall of what used to be their secret hide out.
The gang is chilling at Rayn's place during the whole poisoning fiasco waiting for the next race, and he's half way paying attention to the history documentary on the TV above when he hears the narrator: "Historians are unsure of the significance of these strange, consecutive, horizontal lines carved into an ancient tree..." The image on the screen shows two stacks of lines, one just a few notches taller than the other. No one but Jak understands why Daxter starts tearing up and quickly changes the channel.
Also love the idea of Jak using out dated terminology and idioms. It's not offensive or anything, he just sounds like an old man.
I just think there's a lot of potential there. Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
daxter when he talks to jak while he’s dying
Ok, look, nobody's a fan of the way Keira acts in the second game when it comes to Errol. The weird crush she has on someone who is obviously unhinged makes her character come off as stupid.
So it make me seriously wonder how better this interaction would have been if we left Jaks perspective at any point and saw who Errol was like through Keira's eyes. I have no problem believing that Errol is actually able to act like a decent human being around people he wants to gain the trust of, and the fact he likes Keira means he would have put in the extra effort to win her over.
2 years of being alone in a city full of very shady people after previously living in a cozy village, not knowing what happened to all the people you care about most and then here comes this very skilled racer who goes out of his way to treat you with more respect and care than anyone else in Haven. And he works in the Krimzon Guard? The main team with the duty of protecting the city from metalheads? What a kind hearted charmer. Then the mute childhood friend she thought was dead shows up going through the most horrific edgy phase anyone could go through, while throwing shade at the one good person in Haven for seemingly no clear reason.
Also, and this is only something I thought about while drawing him, but maybe (and this is a stretch) maybe Errol's orange hair and showboat ego reminded Keira a little of how Daxter was as a human, which is the reason she's more willing to look past the negative traits.
Am i grasping at straws here? Yes, because its not like the games gave me any sort of closure, that's what fanfic is for.
