Biography . . .

Niina has only known the wilds of the Lonely Mountains, growing up not with a roof above her head but a canopy of stars to watch over her. She knows nothing of her past but the constant draw of nature beckoning her every step.

Perhaps that was the reason she bonded so quickly with the likes of the wandering bard, such as Snufkin. In fact was the one to tell her about Moomin Valley and all the wonderful people there. Especially the Moomin Family.

In the summers and springs, Niina would travel all around the world, never staying for long. And in the winters and falls of the year? You would find her nestled within the "North Star Lighthouse," a touching little place on an island of its very own. Upon meeting the Lighthouse Woman, she grew to learn how lonely her work was, how her family never cared to visit her, even for hibernation.

So every cold season, Niina makes her way to the lighthouse to keep the kind old woman company. And when they're not together, Niina always sends letters to make sure her friend is still able to see the world, even if it's drawn onto a card.

However, perhaps this coming year Niina will visit this Moomin Valley, just to see what all the hubbub is, of course. And it wouldn't hurt to stop by the Gardeners' Association either, after all. . . those signs won't pull themselves out of the ground.

“Training “ (Sketch/Pose Practice)

Naka in the midst of her weekly weight training . . . I wonder who’s spotting her?~ 😏

(Short) Backstory:

Mamori was mutated as a baby and taken in by the Hamato family after the tragic destruction of the TCRI building, and the many deaths behind the initial attack that killed her family.

Seeing as they were also mutated Hamato Yoshi (a rat) and Tang Shen (a mouse) raised Mamori alongside her new (younger) turtle brothers. Shen was the one to train Mamori despite her constant decline in health as a small girl, and would later surpass her brother in training especially in magic and medicine.

However, when she was older, tragedy befell the family. Mori, Donnie, and Raph had been parterned up for patrol that night, while Leo and Mikey had gone off in another direction. It wasn’t long before they were ambushed by the Foot. The boys became incredibly injured leaving Mori to protect them by herself (she was 16 at the time).

When the boys came to Mikey and Leo had found them, but Mamori was no where to be seem. All that was left was a shuriken covered in blood, her mask shredded to pieces attached to the loop, and the Japanese symbol for death painted onto it.

They searched for months, questioning anyone and everyone they could. Hoping to find their missing sister. But after a year, they were left only to accept that the sign left behind by the Foot Soldier, was the sign of her death.

For two years the Hamato Family mourned her death, constantly struggling to stay together. Blaming one another for what had happened. But as time went on, eventually more people joined their family. Relationships were created, while others faded away.

The boys learned things about themselves, as well as each other, getting stronger and smarter with every mission. Creating something that not even The Foot could break. That was until one patrol left them wondering, what had really happened the night Mamori died . . .

A figure appeared distant, yet familiar. Like a faded memory. Her face was the same, her build and figure more refined since the last time they had seen her. Her eyes were cold and calculated. That warmth they so lovingly remembered, gone. As if it had been erased entirely.

She was dressed as if she had just emerged from the Sengoku Period, a weapon they hadn’t yet trained with strapped to her shell. The shortened strands of her brown hair curled around her face, gently swaying in the breeze. A mask of black painted her eyes, framing them in away that completely hypnotized them. But even as they stared she didn’t move, didn’t breathe. All she did was look back, akin to a mirror image.

All at once their eyes drew to her shoulder, a crown of red painted into her skin. She acknowledged their gaze, as if answering their query. Then she disappeared without a trace . . .

It’s weird how it’ll be 14yrs in September since I joined the TMNT fandom in 2012, and created my first oc that would spiral into a 14 year relationship with art and writing. And it’s all thanks to this beautiful girl right here 🥲💕

“M” now Mayonaka/Mamori, was the driving force for my love of storytelling. I dabbled im art a little here and there before I left California, doing stick figure comics in my free time. But it wasn’t until I saw a commercial for TMNT 2k12 that I really begun to understand what I wanted in my life. (Turns out I had experienced TMNT before but it was the 2k3 era, and something I thought I had hallucinated)

Starting out more as a “Kim Possible” archetype named Nicki (named after one of my fav book characters), to “M” (a bookmark of a name that never really went away — and was really a shortened version of my name “Madison”), to Mayonaka formerly known (within the story) as Mamori.

Every now and then I visit her, as if I’m paying homage to her memory. I hope one day I can finish her plot, really tell the story I spent so many years trying to create. Maybe I can flesh her out a bit more within the next few months while I work on my Octonauts Blog (since the first chapter of that story has to be published Dec. 1st.). I got really far with her a few years ago but stopped due to the sudden rise in popularity of my Octonauts stuff. So wish me luck.

I can’t believe I have to make a post like this, it makes my heart hurt. I feel sick just thinking about this.

Guys I have a Business Account on Pinterest, I chose not to post my own art on Pinterest as to focus on my writing. This is NOT okay. My watermark is on every one of my pieces, and if it’s not there is always a signature and my art insignia.

This is not to attack the reposter account but to bring awareness. (They didn’t even have the decency to link my blog in the site option and I can no longer report them because the post has been taken down.)

I have reported it but I know it will continue to happen again and again. Really all I can do as a content creator is put my watermark — Tell you my boundaries — and report it.

To our younger community friends I know there are a lot of things you’re still learning about content creating and just the internet in general. I want you to know, in no way shape or form, is this okay (I’m using myself as an example for awareness I’m not attacking anyone here).

I work very hard to make these pieces, and even harder trying to put together posts so others can appreciate them. This is disrespectful to other creators, this is disrespectful to me.

The Seaside Salesman . . .

He had finally landed. His beautiful vessel jostled and scraped the moment it's bottom hit the sandy shore. Redd was quick to jump out, immediately anchoring his trawler to a young coconut tree, dragging and heaving at the line so it would sit higher on the shore. Once he was satisfied he ducked under the rope joining the railing, acting as a barrier between him and the ocean whenever he sailed. The object of his desires was quick to find and he snatched it up the moment he came near.

The fox hummed to himself as he secured everything, dropping the trusty wood plank over the side to allow a proper walkway while also making sure that his only transportation wouldn't float away. When he stepped back to marvel at his work, making sure to pat his own back for the effort, Redd was greeted with a sweet smelling air of oranges and sea salt.

"Well . . . you don't see that every day." His tongue clicked eyes roaming over the sight before him. The night before, when he had first set off, he hadn't quite been expecting an island brimmed with life such as this one.

The trees stood tall on the massive hillsides, vibrant and green with chattering critters dancing about within their branches. The grass beneath his feet was short as if it had just been mowed, only growing long around the base of each hill side. His feet carried him along the small forest path which appeared to have been recently cleared. It was a warm day with plenty of clouds to keep the sun's heat at bay. He let out a whistle plucking a thin reed from the ground , setting it between his teeth as his hands made it into his pockets.

His shoulders fell as he lifted his face to the sky, breathing in the fresh air that his lungs had been begging for since he first set out. An investment needed to be made within the inner workings of his boat's engine, a bitter and old thing that spouted out black smoke every time he fired it up. Even after all these years he still hadn't gotten used to it. Redd whistled a merry little tune as he explored, temptingly searching for any passerby that just so happened to reside on the island. But it wasn't until he cleared the path itself the he stopped dead in his tracks altogether.

"Nook you sly dog." He mumbled stroking his chin as he peered around. Now he had only heard that Nook was up to something new the last year or so, but it wasn't until he saw the massive blue tent (along with what seemed to be an entire village of smaller tents all around it) bearing Tom Nook's signature on the front that he actually believed it. "Guess I'll be staying a little longer." He chuckled, "M'sure ol' Nook won't mind be peaking around his place for a bit."

Not many folks seemed to be out and about at the moment, except for a few he had spotted on the opposite shore, despite the beautiful weather. For the most part there wasn't much to see all he could really find were oranges, which appeared to be in full season at this point as the entire island was filled with them. It wasn't until he had wadded through a more shallow part of the river, traveling to the other side, that he actually found something that peaked his interest.

It was . . . small. That was definitely his first impression. It seemed to be busing itself, hopping about and crouching in the oddest of places. Redd looked around himself as he drew nearer. At first he kept back, observing from afar. But as time drew on he found himself getting closer.

He wasn't sure what it was, but it was definitely on a mission. The little creature was dressed oddly, adding to its already difficult to describe appearance. It was too big to be a squirrel or a hamster, and definitely too small to be much of anything else. It definitely wasn't an animal, and didn't appear to be any type of insect or walking fish.

It wasn't until Redd finally approached it that he got a gauge as to what it could actually be. The creature he found seemed to be some kind of human, although that was too easy of a description to give as it had the ears of some kind of goat with a long lizard like tail. But he ran with it anyways, after all it had been some years since he actually came across one, maybe the species had begun to evolve? He wasn't one to judge.

She didn't seemed to paying too much attention, her interest peaking as she observed a lone butterfly which was dancing at the edge of the beach. The little thing had a battered shovel in her hands, one that was clearly in need of repair but too well loved to let go. As she traveled along the shoreline she seemed to collect anything she could get her hands on, shoving it straight into the pouch of her satchel.

That's when Redd decided to make himself known, kicking up sand as he walked so she could hear his advances. She was slow to react, her feet growing sluggish as she approached a decently sized hole in the ground. Her ear twitched, tail swiping at the ground as she pinpointed the sound. Then she turned nearly facing him. Redd's lips tugged into a toothy grin once he realized that he had her attention. The fox then squatted down to her level propping his hands on his thighs as he tilted his head.

"Hello little cousin!" She didn't reply, instead staring blankly his way, so he continued his shpeal, "I don't suppose you're a lover of the fine arts, are you?"

Note: Decided to draw Fae (aka my art sona) wearing my preferred island wardrobe. These are all found in the game and I took a lot of inspiration from the community on Redd’s appearance.

I feel like out of all of the designs I found online, this was by far the most pleasing color scheme I could give him. I also added my own flare of what I believed a “sea-side salesman”, such as himself, would wear if he were traveling on such a charming vessel. Definitely took inspo from the Japanese side of this franchise.

If the mini story sounded off it's because it's very late and I almost fell asleep writing it . . . oops 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I'll fix it later)

Oh hi, yes hello. I is borthday girl and yes I am posting this literally five minutes before my birthday (Sept 14th) is about to end (midnight duh), why you ask? I literally haven’t been home all day.

I planned (and usually plan to) to do literally nothing except maybe go to lunch with my family and go to work shortly after. But somehow I literally spent most of the day with my family and then was spoiled rotten by my adorable coworkers who almost made me cry. Not joking.

Anyways, figured I’d just throw this up here just as another excuse as to why I haven’t posted. It’s been a busy week and I’m super tired. I’m hoping that this next week coming up will give me a chance to finally put together that 200 follower appreciation post I’ve been hoping to make.
