To the people who struggle with salah, or struggle with trying to end bad habits and trying to stop committing certain sinsโ I know the world is harsh. I know that you go ask people for advice and they tell you to just pray, to distract yourself or simply stop what youโre doing and I also understand that itโs not fair to you to hear this non-constructive criticism. Things take time. When youโre trying to lose weight, you donโt just say Iโm going to lose 20 pounds and lose it the next day. You take small steps in order to achieve your goal. You change your diet, you work out, you eat smaller portions, you work hard every day until you reach your end goal. When you want to memorize the entire Quran you donโt simply sit down one day and memorize the entire thing, you learn to read, you listen to the Quran, you practice over and over again, bit by bit. Then eventually you will have memorized the entire Quran. Remember this whenever you want to make any kind of progress in your deen and in your life.
Allah SWT doesnโt possess human-like qualities. So when Allah SWT reminds you that He is the Most-Forgiving, remember that this is not like any kind of forgiveness a human will grant you from doing them wrong. Humans donโt forgive and forget. We bring up past transgressions because weโre flawed, emotional and human. Even if we completely forgive we still will remember. Allah SWT will wipe out your bad deeds every time you ask for forgiveness, he knows whatโs in your heart and sees what you are trying to accomplish. So work hard at bettering yourself, make a plan, try your best to remember your end goal and remember that Allah SWT knows your truth and knows how hard youโre working to improve yourself. Donโt let other discourage you, donโt forget that Allah SWT is the Most-Forgiving.
