What I like most about my learning

What I like most about my learning is that I work hard in grasping ideas and concepts so that I can fully understand them and put them to use. Personally, I have a growth mindset and that my knowledge is developed through putting in the hard work in order to understand material better. I embrace the challenges and believe that it is always an opportunity to learn new concepts. Sometimes it can be a challenge, but I always use my resources and ask for help to support my learning. Once I have mastered the skills and concepts, I usually am able to put them to use and gain more knowledge from it.

A growth mindset is a great thing to have, especially when it comes to school. It can help you learn new things and understand complex concepts that are useful to know.

My Essay Writing Process

What I am most proud of with my writing process is how I was able to start this project very early. Knowing my exam schedule, I started working on my essay a few weeks ago and it really paid off. I added information little by little when I had time which really helped me build up my points. I was also able to go back to previous things I wrote and fixed them.

I also started this project early because of how busy my finals schedule is. Procrastination can be a terrible thing when it comes to school, so it's great that we both knew how busy we were going to be and decided to get done our essays early. Great job!

what I'm most proud of with my writing process

For me personally, I think I am most proud of learning how to write for a specific audience. I feel like I was always a good writer but I think learning how to figure out who my audience is and be able to write specifically for them is something that I improved on in this class. I am also proud of my ability to accept feedback from peers and be able to revise my writing as needed. Revising your work is a big part of writing and I am proud of my growth in that aspect.

I think my ability to ask for and accept feedback during my writing process has also improved. I used to hate feedback, but this course taught me how important feedback is and how to accept it from your peers. This is something that will help both of us with our future writing situations!

Adjusting My Essay

In order to strengthen my point, I think I should use more specific examples in my essay. I talk about Tumblr in general and vaguely discuss some assignments, but I think I would benefit from more specificity. I also may consider switching some paragraphs around so that my essay flows better and the ideas I present connect more fluidly. And of course, I need to adjust some grammar issues!

I also struggled with deciding whether or not to add in specific examples about my Tumblr posts in my essay. I described the variation in my posts, but didn't include any examples. I do think our essays would be stronger with more specificity and examples.

Feedback - Content Reflecting on Learning Essay

For this section of my content reflecting on learning essay, I was focused on explaining what my approach to writing is. I think I did a good job explaining how I see and approach writing. Further, I explained how my approach to writing has changed. For example, I used to see it as a dull and linear process, but I see writing as so much more than that. However, a part of this section is to focus on reflecting forward. I feel like I did not really do this in this section. Is there anything I should add to make sure I reflect forward on my approach to writing? How did you explain how you are reflecting forward in regard to how you approach writing?

Feedback - Content Reflecting on Learning Essay

For this section of my content reflecting on learning essay, I was focused on reflecting on how writing and posting on Tumblr throughout the semester will be useful in my future writing situations. I highlighted a few ways that the knowledge I learned from Tumblr will help me in my future. For example, using pictures and words or creating longer and more detailed posts to effectively communicate my ideas. Do you think I should include actual examples from Tumblr? For example, should I reference specific posts I made and what was in them, or does what I have already convey my message effectively?

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

One thing I definitely struggled with in the past was asking for feedback and using that feedback to better my writing. Over the course of this semester, we had to ask for feedback many times on different projects and assignments and use that peer feedback to make changes to our writing. I think I improved over the course of this semester with asking for clear and constructive feedback and not being afraid to make changes to my work. This process of asking for feedback is now a crucial part of my writing process. I am proud that I developed this part of my writing process.

What do you like most about your essay?

What I like the most about my content reflecting on learning essay is when I explained how my understanding of web writing has changed over the course of this semester. I was able to deeply reflect on everything I learned this semester, especially the various key concepts from the textbook and the projects this semester. Also, I was able to explain how these different key concepts changed my idea of what web writing is. I did a good job of putting how I feel about web writing into words and into a coherent paragraph.

What Is Content?

Content can be anything and everything. Content is dynamic and free-flowing articulation of thought that could be composed into any form whether that is physical or abstract. For most people they see content as a subject or topic that entails a list of knowledge, however, content can be impartial and false as much as it is scientifically true. Content can be a simple thought passed by mouth or a piece of well-developed legislature that was reconstructed thousands of times. Content is essentially “a piece of information “. Not a concept defined by specific parameters but something that holds meaning to be communicated. Content can be; written, visual, or auditory; truthful or false; and shared once or infinitely.

This is a really good understanding of what content is. Content is dynamic and free-flowing and can have many different purposes. There is not one way to define content and it changes for every situation.

How I Understand Communication

I value and understand communication as a skill that allows for unity and societal evolution. Being one of two features that place humans above other species, communication allows people to exchange information in a meaningful and fluent way. For communication to work, words must hold meaning and have definitions to be understood universally or in a territorial region. Communication can include expressing information from speaking and writing to gesturing symbols through body language. Something as simple as a smile can be a form of communication that derives a message like “being happy”.

I like how you added that communication can only be successful if our words or actions have meaning and definitions. To have successful communication, the message being sent and received needs to be mutually understood. If there is a difference in meaning, then the message can get lost or misinterpreted.

How does writing communicate collaboration?

Writing can communicate collaboration in a couple of different ways. First, if two or more people publish a piece of writing and both names are listed on the piece, that shows that these people collaborated. They had to get together, discuss their ideas, create a piece of writing, edit it, and publish it as writing partners. Second, writing can also show collaboration if the author talks about interactions they had with other people or organizations. If they mentioned another conversation they had with other scholarly people, it shows collaboration. These two people or organizations shared ideas, and it was communicated through the piece of writing. These conversations can be in quotations or just integrated into the piece of writing.

What is your writing process?

After working through some of these ideas, I have come up with a writing process that works for me. First, it starts with reading through the assignment or project a couple of times. I do this to make sure I fully understand what is being asked of me. Next, I brainstorm a couple of ideas. I work through these ideas to pick which one is best for the assignment. This step includes using the key concepts from this class to identify my purpose and audience. After that, I will start drafting a rough draft. Once my draft is done, I will look to get feedback on what I have so far. This may be from friends, students, or professors. I will use the feedback to revise my essay. The last step includes running my essay through Grammarly to check for any missed grammar or spelling mistakes.

How do you understand collaboration?

Collaboration is the means of working together with other people to produce or create something. Collaboration is an important skill for students, businesses, and friends. Students can use collaboration to brainstorm ideas, create projects, and solve problems. Businesses can use collaboration to find sponsorships and partners to create new products and services. Friends can use collaboration to come up with fun things to do. A big part of collaboration is being able to communicate with others and listen to others.

How do you understand communication?

Communication is the means of sending and receiving information. Communication can take many different forms. There is verbal communication between two people, satellite communication between phones and computers, and physical communication through body language. Communication is a complex but crucial process. It helps convey and exchange ideas from one person to another. However, some of the meanings of messages can get mixed up from the sender to the receiver. Communication needs to be clear, concise, and constant to be effective.

A Tip in my Guide that Can Be Helpful to Everyone

One tip I mentioned is to know that there is no such thing as “perfect” content because social media is always changing and trends are always changing. I think this is something that could be helpful to everyone to know because it takes some of that pressure off to create something “perfect.”

I love the idea of this tip/trick. I think there is no such thing as perfect content, and my content creators should be aware of that. I will definitely look to add this to my guide! Thanks!

Should I split these two concepts into separate slides, or does having them on the same slide work? This is the slide that I have in my How to Write Guide dedicated to content strategy. I first give my own personal definition and then explain why it's important.

Also, am I missing anything here or is my information on content strategy sufficient? Should I elaborate on any parts?

Context: I have structured my How to Write Guide like a "Top 10 Tips and Tricks to Create a Great Food Review" list. This is my second slide which acts like a preface to the list. Its main purpose is to give a definition for content strategy and establish why content creators need content strategy.

I think pairing the two concepts on the same slide works better. Your content creators will be able to learn what content strategy is and why it is important. I think separating them takes away the strong effect they would have on the content creator.

How will having a good revision process help you moving forward beyond this class?

I think a good revision process will definitely develop overtime but it is important to know to strengthen your writing and critique yourself. As I develop as a young professional I will hopefully make more mistakes but I want to get to the point where I can catch my own mistakes. Eventually I hope to make content to help build brands and that has be able to boost brand awareness and generate leads.

Being able to notice your own mistakes and critique your own writing is an important skill to have in a revision process. This can strengthen you as a writer and make your revision process quicker.
