Me: God dammit, it's a fucking PB.
(Here comes Yvan, being mad that I missed his birthday for the 4th time in a row. I apologize if it looks weird, it's been a couple months since I last drew him.)
After over 2 years of inactivity, I will make some updates. Dunno what, but it'll be fun!
*~*When you feel terrible after realizing your blog’s been lifeless for a few months...*~*
Well, at least with the very real pandemic, I could just say that the characters had no motivation to run the blog due to putting their focus on other things. I mean, that’s exactly what happened with me. I tried to get in shape, but what did I do? Fall back to a primarily sedentary lifestyle. Way to go, me! /s
You’d think I’d have more free time. Oh, well; it happens. Just to remind everyone, asks are always open unless I say otherwise!
All I really have to do is tinker a few things, and come up with more up-to-date character designs; after all, a few changes happened with each toon! This is gonna take a while, so please bear with me.

Happy 2020!
Several generations before us thought we’d have flying cars, 3D printer-like things that instantaneously make food, hoverboards, Sk/ype before Sk/ype existed (maybe?), citizens being able to go to space, all that great stuff!
But we have smartphones, normal 3D printers, memes, alarmingly heightened prices, personal computers, and a great majority of the world population possibly never going to space. Am I complaining? Not really, although it could be better!
Still, sometimes you have to appreciate things, even if some situations could be better.
I wanna go to space before that opportunity slips from me forever. Speaking of which...why did there have to be a huge dust storm on Mars? If I understand correctly, Oppy’s been gone for almost 2 years. <:(
But enough sadness for now. Here’s to a glorious future...hopefully! :D

GAME OVER
Kitty growled under her breath, low at first then working up to a snarl. She smacked the machine, hoping to retrieve her quarter but the screen just mocked her with its flashing message. She paused when she heard a muffled noise from inside the machine.
“Hello?” She inspected the money slot. “Roger? Did you get stuck in there again?”
Another noise. No, it wasn’t Roger. If it had been, he would have answered immedietly and poked his head out from the slot.
“Hello? Do you need help?”
Barry was in the coin storage bin doing a not-nice thing: scooping up quarters into a money sack. He was joyfully collecting handfuls of coins like the thief that he was, when all of a sudden, the machine was shaken. He yelped in fear, which resulted in the very same muffle that noted Kitty to check what was wrong.
Soon after, he was able to hear a woman’s voice; not very well, admittedly. Something about a Roger? Barry tried to simply go out of the slot, but toon physics somehow weren’t in his favor this time. The next muffle sounded more distressed than the first.
The machine was shaking constantly, as if heavy objects were being pelted inside of the bin. There was a faint sound of jingling quarters.
Kitty tilted her head as she inspected the machine. Then she heard a faint rattling from within it, like someone fumbling for a set of keys…
Keys…that was it! Kitty made sure the owner of the arcade and the various patrons were precoccupied and went round to the back of the game. She retrieved a hair pin from the pocket of her jacket and used it to pick the lock on the repair slot to pry it open. When the small black door had swung open completely, she came face to face with a short, black and white toon, holding a bundle of quarters in his arms.
“What the-?”
It was no use trying to break out from the front, so Barry decided to break out through the back of the machine. He quickly gave up on that, too. Sighing, he figured he’ll try to somehow escape through the top of the arcade machine. But wait a minute. What’s that noise?
Uh, oh. As if bringing attention to himself while doing crime wasn’t bad enough, Barry was like a deer in the headlights when he saw Kitty. The clown had similar attire to the clothes he normally wore, except he had a black mask and a horizontal striped sweater. He tried to grin widely, but it didn’t conceal how freaked out he was that well.
“’ello, ma’am! Ah’m just, erhm…one o’ the guys who clean out the quartah bin when it’s almost full! W-what’s the point o’ an arcade if ye…cannae play the games ye love, am I right? Ah’m gonna…put the money where it belongs! Def’nitely!” He tried to walk away, but he seems slow enough to be followed and/or stopped. Barry was 200% certain he fooled Kitty, so he felt there was no need to run…yet.
At the weirdest Kitty had expected a mouse-a real mouse, it would have explained why she hadn’t gotten an answer. Instead, her eyes widened as she him squatting inside instead, wearing a striped vest and a balaclava. He looked to be some sort of…jester? The pale face with the black horizontal lines around the eyes suggested he was a much older toon, possibly from the Fleischer era. She wouldn’t have batted an eyelid had this not been the second vintage toon she had met this year.
This was going to be her life now wasn’t it? Not that she was complaining. Toons would always better than people.
She furrowed her brows as she listened to him, parting her lips as if thinking of a way to interject during his explaination. He had some kind of an accent but she couldn’t place what it was. Her initial surprise wore off when the toon began to make a run for it with his armful of loose change.
“Woah, Woah, Woah!”
She grabbed him by the scruff of his clothes and held him off the ground before he could try to run. “Just what do you think you’re doing?”
She peered out from behind the machine to make sure the arcade manager wasn’t on the move-he was back at his desk. She brought the toon closer and lowered her voice to a whisper.
“Look at you! Stealing from the arcade games? Have you no shame?” she scolded, “Children play on these things you know!”
That wasn’t strictly true. The machine she had playing on was used mostly by teenagers whose parents had money to burn. However, she had heard the owner complaining that the arcade was having recent finacial troubles and she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt over it. The manager was a prick but she loved this place, it was an escape. She would hate to think that someone was taking advantage of it, human or toon.
“Now get outta there! Surely ya’ve got better things to do than rob a family place?”
She glanced at the pile of quarters still in his arms. Even though she knew it was wrong, she couldn’t help but be a tiny bit impressed underneath her displeasure. The idea of someone having the audacity to steal in broad daylight, in view of multiple crowds, was almost something to be admired.
Okay, maybe Barry was going a little too fast, because he found himself dangling over the floor; upon seeing Kitty again, he immediately knew why. She didn’t fall for his ruse at all! He couldn’t believe it, even though he really should have!
He started to look more annoyed than afraid about what became of the situation. This was…what, the fourth person to attempt making him feel bad about his crimes, even though crimes can be damaging and have consequences?
His facial expression flickered from relaxed to tense as he saw her look around the arcade. However, when Kitty told him to leave, his eyebrows furrowed even further down as he rolled his eyes. Great, just great!, he thought.
He tightened his grip on the quarters; wondering why he had to go and get himself stuck in the first place, then get saved by someone on a different side of the law than himself. What was she planning to do? Turn him in? He swallowed, trying to stop the fear from coming back.
“Hold yer ‘orses, lass! Maybe ah’ ‘ave bettah thin’s tae dae, maybe nae! Dae ye really think an arcade, o’ all places, wid notice a few quartahs missin’?” Barry, that’s more than a few– nevermind. “Besiiiides, wid they miss hundreds o’ these shiny coins?”, he said while patting the money bag, which rustled as a result.
He, Fionnbharr P. Emmett, smiled smugly. “Nay, lass. They’re none the wisah. They could always make more!” Barry might just eat those words sooner or later, bite after revolting bite.
Kitty folded her arms throughout his little speech. What on earth was it with some people and money? While she too had been beckoned by the honey-dripping voice of capitalism on many occasion, it was always to do with the essentials: food, water, shelter. The idea that hard metal or wispy pieces of paper could bring anyone so much happiness was beyond her comprehension. Though, she did admit, to see someone so downtrodden and unforunate in life to be on the streets begging or searching the streets for dropped pennies aroused in her deep sympathy.
Still, she thought, it was a new low to sink to stealing from arcade games. Even if the missing coins did go unnoticed. She studied his sheepish face carefully. With his black and white form and his love for shiny things he reminded her of a magpie - but even Hekyll and Jekyll weren’t this crafty.
“Well OK,” she said, “but I’m sure they’ll notice a few. See that wirey kid near the front desk? That’s Horace. I’m pretty sure he counts the quarters at the end of the day and slides them into his paycheck. He’ll definetly notice if he’s a few dollars short. Why do ya need so much anyway?”
While Kitty was thinking about the disturbing reality of a severe financial imbalance (with said imbalance mainly caused by greedy CEOs), Barry stuck his tongue out as he put his hands on his sides in a victorious fashion. That strange thief was dancing like he was in a musical. He honestly thought he was a wordsmith.
The quarters sure were loud. If he didn’t break one of the unspoken criminal’s rules, which happened to be ‘if you’re being sneaky, don’t bring attention to yourself’, he certainly did now. Then his victory bubble burst, having heard Kitty speak again. Barry seemed boastful as ever, laughing as he doubted her claims.
“Well, by the time ‘e’s done, ah’d be long gone intae the night! What, is ‘orace gonna bring me doon like...“ Come on, Barry, you had it in your head for a second! The names of...superheroes? Drat, they’re gone now. Quick, think of something else! “some vigil...vel...wannabe hero? He’s got a mask an’ tights?“

Yvan slowly opened his eyes, looking sad that he ruined his party horn. He heard footsteps, carefully getting up from the sidewalk.
As he was spoken to, he was happy someone offered to help out. “I’m alright, this happens all the time! Say, do you know where ‘1057 Full Moon Boulevard’ is? I have to be there by 7:30 PM.”
“Yeah, sure.”
Rex took out his phone and punched in that address onto a map app. After some searching, Rex eventually found the place in question. Looking at the time, he noticed it was already 7:15PM. On foot, Yvan might make it there late.
“Okay, I know where it is. How about a ride there though? You’re gonna need it if you want to make it on time.”
Of course, what Rex neglected to mention was that he planned to carry Yvan while he leaped over tall buildings.
After he saw the other man using a phone, Yvan looked around and was amazed how huge the surrounding environment truly was; it was no wonder he got lost to begin with. But hey, he met someone new, and he likes getting to know others!
“Yes, thank you! My car’s in the shop, the poor thing! So I tried to get there on foot. Apparently, my direction instincts are not good outside of driving.” He looked around again, trying to find a means of transportation.
“Well, how shall we get there?“

Yvan was in his devilish costume, excitedly running with a piece of paper in his hand. He was invited to one of those very early ‘Halloween’ parties, which he had been looking forward to before the months changed. He was jumping a few times, blowing a party horn loudly.
He didn’t pay attention to where he was going while searching which house matched the address. By the time he looked straight forward again, it was too late; he ran into a streetlight. The short man looked dizzy, and the party horn was bent out of shape. Yvan was now on the ground, grumbling in annoyance.
“Uh.”
Rex walked over, hands in his pockets. Looked like he’d just have to help someone along. Not that Rex didn’t like that– big or little, Rex liked helping out. He was just a little confused as to what was going on.
“Hey pal. You okay? Got lost?… Need any like, help?”
Yvan slowly opened his eyes, looking sad that he ruined his party horn. He heard footsteps, carefully getting up from the sidewalk.

*~*Nevermind, I’m back now! :D | on hiatus until better wi-fi is here.*~*
Everything is so slow, and I fear it would make production very hard to achieve; what with all the random disconnects.
I apologize for any threads left unreplied to. I will get to that as soon as the wi-fi is better.

@mr-gooseyshoes LIKED FOR A STARTER!
Rex perked up. Was that a toon, he spotted? Must have been, he figured. He was curious what they were up to, though. So he set about watching for now.
