Are you a Casualty fan missing Casualty on this Casualty-less night? Have you considered filling the Casualty shaped hole in your Saturday night with Classic Casualty? I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again, everyone would benefit from watching one pre-2000 Casualty episode.

Some reasons to give Classic Casualty a go, not nearly all of them: Whatever it is you like about modern Casualty, it was probably already there in the 80s and definitely there by the 90s. The characters are consistently very enjoyable, I’d struggle to think of a classic main character that I really dislike and I love so many of them. When you see people claiming that Casualty “used to be all about the medicine” and “has gone woke” you will be able to prove them wrong with just how not-about-the-medicine and (often loudly) political classic Casualty was. When your modern faves do stuff that resembles something a classic character did, you will be able to tell everyone just how very special your fave is based on that… not that I’d ever do that! Also, isn’t it so funny that With a Bullet has so many accidental Cry for Help parallels?

Being serious, it’s consistently well written, features plenty of very serious and dark subjects without getting bleak, and has some absolutely stand-out amazing episodes.

Also, everyone is saying it’s Classic Casualty Summer. That’s what they’re all saying.

Kind of pleased that Duffy’s first story is going to be such a tough one and the events are crucial for both Elle and Louise, two of my favourite female characters on the show. But that’s how in my wildest dreams and ideal conception Duffy fits into Casualty on her return. At the centre, strong, pivotal for others

Yes exactly! I am super excited and August can’t come quick enough so that we’ll get to see that story play out. I really can’t wait until Saturday now and seeing the previews of the episode from Cathy’s interview this morning has just made me even more on edge about the episode 😁 And as Oliver Kent said, this episode is going to hint to what this story could be about!
