Two of our tallest towers hit. Our Department of Defense in flames; scrambling for a plan of action. An aircraft scattered across a field with no life in site. ⁣ ⁣ A city in smoke, covered in ash. 911 floods with calls, then communications are down. Police roll out, fire fighters suit up, EMTs standing by, hospitals preparing. Sirens heard from all around. ⁣ ⁣ A president interrupted reading to 2nd graders; whispered to “America is under attack”. He has to address the nation from an elementary school in front of students and teachers. Airspace cleared, all planes forced to land, Air Force One in the sky. The White House is not safe.⁣ ⁣ Everyone is leaving work, children are let out of class to be sent home. The bridges and tunnels leading into the city are restricted, all subways shutdown. The Captiol is now closed. Crowds evacuate the island by foot across the Brooklyn Bridge or by ferry to New Jersey.⁣ ⁣ All eyes glued to the televisions. Crying, lots and lots of crying. Confused, asking yourself “why”? An unsettling feeling fear to be in your own home; your safe haven. ⁣ ⁣ Then the towers fall, the world has changed. ⁣ ⁣ Never Forget.
