Apart of the reason bakugo hates midoriya so much in the beginning is because he thinks midoriya must be looking down on him because he looks down on others he considers beneath him.
bakugo looks down on basically everyone , because he is objectively better than almost everyone he surrounds himself with... except midoriya.
Now some people might argue with me over this but midoriya was never really "beneath" bakugo in anything other than pyschical strength
And if midoriya had a quirk it would be average because his mother's quirk is weak. But the midoriya turns out to be quirkless, that means the closet thing bakugo has ever had to a true rival is someone who is biologically destined to be weaker than him ... but midoriya is still such a great guy anyways and bakugo hates it
So the only way bakugo can deal with people not being beneath him is if he views them as a rival, or an enemy.
He immediately trys to make an enemy out of todoroki and literally everyone in his school just because he feels threatened by the fact that people dont imeadiately believe him to be the best
Its largely because his classmates have zero respect for him , infact they are not scared to shit on him at all , they genuinely didn't like bakugo at all .
But even tho midoriya refers to him and bakugos status as "equals" after they fought that time, bakugo does not see midoriya as someone equal to him . He sees him as being above him, someone to surpass or too catch up too.
I think todoroki is the only one that we can consider an equal to bakugo. Bakugo did beat him once technically but todoroki didn't use fire so its hard to say if he would have had an advantage, atp a actual fight between them is mutually assured destruction
Back to the point, this originally makes him very hateful towards midoriya, because he genuinely believed quirkless people were useless , or maybe he just had those thoughts specifically about midoriya (but that's just worse)
and the fact that a quirkless person was better/ as good as him in many ways enraged him. So he would bully him, humiliated him, tore him down ect ect
midoriya is just better than bakugo in a lot of ways, yes he worked hard for it, but bakugo doesn't see that, bakugo didn't see midoriya crying his eyes out when all might told him he could be a hero, didn't see him clean that whole beach , didn't see sqaut shit because he is honestly js a lil self centered what he is is how the only thing midoriya is objectively worse than him in is a biological trait that he had zero control over . That obviously made a egotistical person like bakugo very upset
But more than that, midoriya must look down on him right? If bakugo treats the people beneath him so badly, if he cant even tolerate the idea of someone biologically inferior to him being on his level, then Midoriya, being better than him, should feel the same.
This also becomes more apparent when you see how he treats midoriya and todoroki vs the "extras" in his class.
Even tho he was closer to denki and kirishima originally he does not see them as his equals , and you can argue w me about that but even after bakugo mature's there are still plenty of people he sees as beneath him.
they are his extras who follow him around basically. I mean ig its better than if they were just extras just inje bcs they do actually have a relationship w him but like damn bakugo 😭😭
He thinks midoriya is secretly as hateful as him, or worse midoriya is the condescending type who takes pity on those not on his level. Midoriya was technically is friend at some point, and he still wants to be , cleary he is just like him, i mean from bakugos perspective anyway
Cause like, from the objective perspective bakugo is genuinely js bordering schizophrenic ngl. midoriya could breathe and he would interpret it as deku telling him he is useless. Atp when bakugo has a bad day he blames midoriya like how I blame everything on ice spice and jlo
