Alison shrugged at the question of Max. She hadn’t seen him in a while. “I don’t know. He dumped me at a bar a few months after you saved us,” she explained. People always left, it was what they did. Nobody seemed to stick around long enough to truly hurt her anymore because she expected them to leave. She smiled a little when he said it was good to see her. It made her feel a little better that he hadn’t forgotten her. “It sounded… different. Maybe a little fun?” she continued unsure if she was making sense, “I’m not serving drinks or temping at some office. What about you? You get away from your family?”
Finn frowned when she mentioned Max had dumped her. The guy had been a total dick anyway, but it wasn’t him that Finn cared about. He just wanted Aly to be safe and away from any hunters that could’ve found out that she was a shifter. “I’m sorry. I know it’s late to say that but it’s a shitty thing for him to do anyway.” He knew that years had passed but it was still nice to see an old friend. She was the reason he had started questioning the morality of what his family was doing. In a round about way she was the reason he was there. “I can’t argue with you there It’s definitely better than being stuck in an office cubicle, even though I kind of am sometimes.” He shrugged, still smiling at her. “I’m the guest services manager, so I guess that makes me your boss? But yeah, I only really got away from them a month or two ago. I was trying to convince them that hunting wasn’t the way to go but it was a lost cause.”
