So! Story time! After I posted my entry to the Character Design Challenge a few weeks ago, I got a message from a father in Poland asking if I could make a drawing for his daughter Amelia. Amelia suffers from chromosome 20 trisomy, a birth disease that in her case makes it hard to breathe when she sleeps. I asked my pal Adriana if she could help write a message in Polish to go along with the drawing and this is the result. I really hope she likes it, and for me this was a nice change of pace and style. It's been a while since I've drawn animals. Gotta do it more often!

I made a music video! Back in November my friend Montoro called me to help make this video for local Barcelona artists Prieto and Noa. This was a lot of fun to do and I’m super proud of the final result. Now back to work! 💪🏽 💪🏽 💪🏽

Dedicating my cooldown sketch to the unforgettable Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia. Star Wars was a huge deal for me growing up and one of the reasons I love space so damn much.

I never did fantasize about Leia in her bikini, but I did enjoy watching her kickass on Endor with her stolen hoverbike, so that’s the memory of her I’ll always take with me. RIP.

Quick and dirty Jyn Erso cause Rogue One was DA SHIIIIIEEET! Seriously so happy I went to see it and when I got out of the theater I was so pumped I had to make this.

I will clean it up and slap some simple colors on it later!

Today’s 10 minute poses. I was really surprised with how some of these came out, but noticed I have difficulty controlling the length of my strokes, which is why the last sketch looks nothing at all like the model.

This month’s theme for the Character Design Challenge is “Harry Potter”, so I drew a stylized and modern Kingsley Shacklebolt and his talking lynx patronus!

Going in, I didn’t know that much about the character other than he is one of the few black wizards ever mentioned in the books and that he is an extremely accomplished auror. Also, I remembered when I read the Order of the Phoenix that in his introduction he’s described as a man who was dressed well enough to pass for a muggle, so I figured since he’s an escort to the Minister of Muggle Affairs, that he would be dressed as secret service/security detail (as far as the colors, I just used the palette worn by the character’s movie version, to keep a relationship to that incarnation of the char).

Also, even though his sorting house is never mentioned, he seems to have all the traits and characteristics of a Hufflepuff, so I sprinkled some nods to that in his design.

I’ll go and render the light and shades later after grocery shopping and STAR WARS TONITE!!! :D

Testing this smoke animation because suddenly I became obsessed with Joseph Gilland’s Elemental Magic books and I’m trying to get the timing right for special effects.
