This performance of Händel's underrated opera "Deidamia"! No need for more!

Yup! That's a guy behind her!!!! The dude is simply PERFECT at his performance of Achilles/Pyrrha! There he is again (on the left)

Man the fact that I even need to point out where he is shows how great the makeup team actually was and how great the dude was to his performance of Achilles! I mean look at him! He is much more feminine than what I could ever be in his role! I swear to God he could pass for a woman entirely!!!!! Which shows how great he was!

And the voice dude THE VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear! I am a trained soprano (not to that level of course) and yes there are men who sing high notes (see this contra-tenor I had also referenced for Achilles) but you generally hear a range towards the area of mezzo-soprano and you can actually tell from some smoother transitions that we talk about a contra-tenor. But THIS dude is a full-on singing soprano there!!!!! This is not a contra-tenor he is a man-soprano I swear to god! (and the dude in the scene is the bass singer Petros Magoulas [Πέτρος Μαγουλάς] who plays Lycomedes yeah even an opera can find a Greek even if it is not a casting for a movie and the actors are not supposed to necessarily look their parts!!!!! Tragic irony!) In fact the original opera was written for a soprano for the part of Achilles, which actually shows how insanely talented this artist is! (Also Lycomedes and Phoenix were supposed to be bass, Ulysses/Odysseus was supposed to be played either by a contratenor or a mezzo-soprano, Deidamia and her friend were soprani)

The performance of this underrated opera was actually both conducted and stage-directed by George Petrou (Γιώργος Πέτρου) yup! Another Greek! The costume as well as set designs were done by...yup you guessed it! Another Greek Giorgina Germanou (Γιωργίνα Γερμανού). Ιt was supposed to be a satirical play which connects the past and the present. A bunch of silent characters to the background are the tourists of modern day Skyros who supposedly arrive for a wedding and at the same time "participate" to the events of the myth with their imagination, seeing it through the eyes of their head. Also the several prompts such as the armor and the pieces of jewelry presented to the protagonists, symbolically come out of museum glass cases:

(The part where they take out Greek flags killed me!!!! I did not see that coming like at all! But I died! I was physically clapping!!!! Comedy gold!)

The performance took place during Wexford Festival Opera, National Opera House, Wexford, Ireland, Saturday 18 October 2025. Singers:

My ocs redesign in gacha 2

By orden of creation

The first two are Mélodie obviously, the Dancer and guard. Guard Mélodie pretends to no be Dancer Mélodie, to no cause chaos and to not have people harrasing her in her duty

Elie has mycenaean style, since her mother is cretean, I want to get it the most accurate possible. Works on night

Letha has vilitigo, also has difficulties on hiding her spirit animal ears (I still don't like her redesign)

Nerea is a poet and singer to entretain the suitors, doesn't bother in hiding her fins ears, mostly to cause confusion and to scare people in the palace

Helia, a counselor, has thunder scars and has bad vision for it. You can see her in the hallways mostly in night.

Selena has hundreds of white fleckles because her spirit animal, she hides her hair and body for her mother's fault.

Cora, born in Ithaca and then lived in sparta. A guard who has bad temper, quick to anger. Has problems with the suitors. Matching capes with big sister.

Ilena, a prophet and follower of lord Apollo. The tallest, and the 'most colorful' due her spirit animal. Hits bad people with her staff.

Aretha, other Dancer, but always sleeping in the day, only awake on night, has bad sleeping too.

Best Friends Need a Gossip Break

Nerea @zennihilation & Baishan needed to have a conversation about their current situations. So very happy mentions to @i-creatied-au’s Baishan & @handsignals

Baishan was excited to find Nerea, if he could find her. She wasn’t in her usual spot at her desk so he figured she was hiding somewhere. He had searched the diamond, avoiding Teia before he’d be sucked into chatter. Then went to the training areas, and then the roof top. He spotted a hooded figure blending in with the other fledglings chatting quietly amongst themselves. The hooded figure looked around suspiciously, and that sealed the deal.

“So who are you hiding from this time? Noa? Or that de riva you told me about?” Baishan teased, whispering next to her ear

Nerea jumped and swung blindly at Baishan out of reflex. One of the many reasons she was not exactly top billed for Contracts. When she caught her breath, she glared at him. “Don’t do that! And yes, it’s Noa. She’s following me around.”

Baishan moved back out of her range, “it’s funny watching you squirm a bit. Why is she on your tail this time?”

“She saw me in the market talking—Wait! What do you want anyway?!”

Baishan grinned, “Tut tut Nerea, we are talking about you right now. Anyways, Talking to who?”

“Only if you come clean about what's going on with you, ‘Little Man'.”

“Look I’ll take it from Akim but not from you.” Baishan ruffled her hair. “Too many eyes, I’m not admitting shit here, so we can head back to the shop.”

“Fine, but the long way. I'm serious, my aunt's on the hunt and it's impossible to do anything right now.”

“What did you even do to get her attention?”

She looked quickly in either direction. “I… was getting a Feast Day gift for someone.”

“Now that you have to tell me.”

“Oh, so we don’t care that my secrets will just be out there?” she huffed. “It’s fine. I’m already caught. It’s for Giovanna. The de Riva girl.”

“See you could have waited till we got to the store but you wanted to talk about it.” He raised a brow, “Getting gifts wow, you must be committed.” Baishan pulled out his keys from his pocket, opening his store and letting them in. “Coffee? Or Tea?”

“Oh, shut up.” She followed him in and relaxed a little. “Tea is fine if you’re having any. I just thought it would be nice, and you said to be direct.”

Baishan brewed some tea, letting the kettle heat, “And how did direct go?”

“Well, we started talking and then Noa showed up and I ran.”

“Cockblocked by Noa. That’s gotta be a new low.” He poured their cups of tea handing one Nerea

“Gross, but yes, that. And it's not new. It's all the time with her and Neri.”

“Sucks for you.” Baishan shrugged, “So you got actual feelings for the de riva?”

“Don’t know yet. That’s what talking was for, like you suggested.” She took the cup and glared at him. “Now, your turn, ‘Little Man.’”

He glared back, “This is only Akims nickname. You’re too small to call me that. And I don’t know. I got shit faced with him. Told him about Illario. He talked to me about it said I shouldn’t keep him around and so. I cut things off with illario.” Baishan shrugged, “Made him a ‘thank you’ pot of pasta and I figured out calling him pretty makes him flustered. See nothing to really tell.” He swirled his cup clearly with something else on his mind

“Let's hope you listen to him better than you ever did with me,” she buffed. “Sounds cute though. You even have pet names now! I thought you were above that sort of thing.”

“It’s not a pet name, it's just name flustering him. He acts very hard on the surface like nothing phases him but when I called him pretty he gets so expressive and I like to see it.” Baishan rolled his eyes, “I already cut things off with Illario I listen just fine.”

“That’s literally a pet name. Soooo…” She grinned mischievously, peeking over her tea cup, “Well. When’s your second date?”

Baishan groaned, “It wasn’t a date. And who knows when we will see each other again. Everything has been chance or when I get the time to go to Arlathan. And then the shop still needed taking care of. I- can’t just see him because I want to.”

“Sorry, it was dinner that you made brought to his place where you called him pretty. Sure sounds like a date.” She shrugged. “Close up shop for the holiday. It's probably less chaotic in Arlathan anyway.”

“The food was a thank you for letting me get shit faced and talk about another guy. That doesn’t constitute a date. And it’s a fact he’s pretty.” Baishan rolled his eyes, setting down his cup on the counter, “I just got over illario. Akim is great but I barely know what is going on with him either. I barely know the guy! And he aggravates me with his stupid handsome face.”

“Oh no, you're right. There's nothing there at all. Mmhmm.” She shrugged. “I’m not saying get into something right away. But you could still date his ‘stupid handsome face.’ It seems he doesn’t mind the company.”

“Don’t make me delusional, if I get my hopes up again, what if I fall into the same thing I did with Illario?” Bausch sighed, “Enough about me, when are you going to confess your love.”

“I will fish you out of that too,” she nodded, assuredly. “I promise to update you as soon as I can have an actual conversation with her without my family hiding in the shadows.”

“Fine. But I better be the first to hear about it.” Baishan crossed his arms and leaned back against the counter, “I’m getting my hands on the second volume of your book.”

“Thank you! Can I also get another copy of the first one? I kind of,” she began, trailing off a bit, “Gave it to her.”

Baishan chuckled, “Yeah yeah, call it a gift. Happy Holidays, Nerea.”

She reached over and gave him a big hug with a grin. “Happy Holidays, Baishan.”

This was quite an interesting doodle. A certain orange friend drew Queen Nerea of Hydropolis and myself as traditional merfolk for "Mer May" this year. They said they would love to include Leander as a human prince that encounters us in a Little Mermaid-esque AU, should their health permit them to before the end of this month.

Either way, I hope you enjoy Rara's artwork of us. Nerea is quite stunning in any form, isn't she?
