So, Knight Artorias is in Nightreign now, and Fromsoft souped him up to be extra badass, not only by making it really hard to stagger him out of his buff up animation, but also by adding some super sick attacks while he's buffed up that are kinda wolf-like. This is awesome, but what I really want to talk about is how the game addresses him in the boss healthbar:

This is sort of interesting to me because to my recollection, no other Night boss is referred by an actual name, just a descriptive moniker. To name just a few, Morgott, Mohg, Godrick/Godefroy, and Elemer are given monikers instead of their government name

Whereas everybody's got an extremely obvious moniker, the game just calls Artorias by both title and name. Not something like "Abysswalker," "Wolf Knight," or even something like "Knight of the Abyss." That's just Knight Artorias, straight up.

Another thing, if you manage to beat him, instead of his body fading and turning into white particles like it usually does in Dark Souls, it looks like he's being warped out by some sort of Abyss portal, similar to the portal you get forcefully grabbed into by Manus when entering the DLC.

Considering that the Artorias of the Abyss DLC dabbles in some time traveling stuff, specifically with the Chosen Undead getting dragged into the past, I have no idea what the implications are in Nightreign, a spin-off game where its canonicity to Elden ring is pretty nebulous. But it's fun to think about it.

I've been playing so much FFT this weekend :D I love that the story generics have fixed names. Was that the case in WotL? I've only played the PSX version! I always make it a goal to recruit the knight in Dorter in chapter 1 and while not initially planned, I managed to grab the theif (again in Dorter) in chapter 2... xD; Now I want to grab all the story generics I can! I'm by the first zodiac lucavi and need to grind a bit before I face him~
