People often ask.... "Where does the name go?" The answer is on the back of the place card (unless it's one of our new laydown place cards.) The image side faces into the table which helps set 'the theater of the table' and gives your guests a beautiful image to look at vs. the back of a blank place card (in this case, a place card by @gustthepoodle aka Marian McEvoy.) And the name faces the seated guest. We sometimes recommend after everyone is seated, to spin your place card around so the name now faces into the table. This is really helpful when everyone doesn't know each other or has just met, and guests can address each other easily by name. Be sure to take advantage of our complimentary digital calligraphy service. Your cards can arrive with all of your guest's names on them. One less thing you have to do! You just need to open the pack and place the cards on the table! With 6 fonts to choose from, you'll surely find something that works with your aesthetic! I think it's kinda official or safe to say that Spring has finally arrived in the Hudson Valley! Yesterday was simply magnificent!! And the light was magical ✨️ Our dining room faces west, and represents Night. As the sun drops downward, it lights up the room in beautiful, shadowy and moody ways. What you can't see is the light dancing and moving around all of the surfaces. It's not static. The light even hits one of our favorite vignettes in the salon (the room that represents dusk) of the clay nude maquette, at precisely the right time for about 10 minutes before it all disappears. 🌈 About 3 weeks ago, we experienced a wonderful phenomenon. Something that, to that day, none of us had seen before: the end of a rainbow 🌈 Karen, Pax and I drove about an hour north of us to drop off jars to our honey supplier. It had been raining off and on all morning but at this most magical moment ✨️, the 🌞 came out and voila, the rainbow appeared in the sky and we saw what appears to be the end. We were so excited when our dear friend Sheila Bridges aka @harlemtoilegirl shared that she was collaborating with iconic English brand @wedgwood to create a collection of fine bone china using her Harlem Toile pattern!
