the thing i love about ewan’s acting is his eyes.

eyes are a big thing that i pay attention to when watching a movie.

example: if the character/actor is on screen im looking mostly at the eyes, not the background or set, costumes, etc. --the eyes.

and every film that i’ve watched so far with ewan in it, whether he play a gay person or straight, he’s always looking at the lover with those blue eyes that convey so much love and softness. it makes you want to believe that the two actors are actually married in real life, or that the characters really do indeed exist as lovers.

in star wars episode lll, we can see the hurt in obi-wan’s body language but also the eyes. the betrayal…the grieving…the-everything!! all these overwhelming emotions clash together for obi-wan, and ewan plays them perfectly.

in halston (which if you haven’t watched yet you definitely should!!) ewan plays the trauma and the clinginess of halston so well, showing that he doesn’t want to let go of the man who is draining him in almost every way.

in the obi-wan kenobi series, ewan portrays the lost, grieving former jedi master so very well. we can see how leia slowly brings him back to the light, and how by the end, he finally laughs for the first time in 10 yrs. he becomes more confident, regaining strength in the Force, and finding qui-gon to guide him on the rest of his journey.

(btw just finished the series for the 2nd time yesterday!!)
