So much of this worldly experience is out of our hands but we can choose to be generous w our love and curious abt life and find pleasure and amusement and refuge in the patterns of our every day and support each other and care for our world and meet even those we don’t know w grace and patience and consideration and that these little qualities are in our control is not to be forgotten

FEBRUARY INVITES SHAME TO THE DINNER TABLE,

Or at least puts it on the forefront. You struggle with the desire of withdrawal,

you want to seclude yourself from the world again—you gave it a shot, and the

month was nothing but long & brutal. You wear your heart on your sleeve and

it gets caught on too many things. Everything has teeth, or an invisible weight

that’s been dragging you to new depths you’ve never been to & there’s only so

much you can say or do when they ask the question again but really what they

mean to ask is why do you still not have it together? They look at you with pity

and move on, akin to a segment on the news about how another family was torn

apart at its seams and the repercussions will echo for generations & they say

‘can you imagine’ and move onto the next segment. Can you imagine if this

was all that I am? All that I was meant to be? Would you love me despite?
