Tilda shut up about art and get down here 😘
Tilda is not a villain. She just wanted to be loved. And don't we all? She lost everything, including the only person she ever loved. She lived with her loneliness, regret, and guilt for a thousand years. She was trapped by her grief as it ate away at her, and haunted by the anguish of yearning for someone she could never be with again.
Her new reality was unbearable, so she turned to virtual comforts. There she could pretend Elisabet went with her, or that the Faro Plague never happened, and they went on living normal lives together. For a while it helped numb the pain, until eventually the solace VR provided began to fade. Then there was nothing but her, completely alone, yet again. But she continued to relive the memories and fantasies because they were all that was left. What torture that must have been.
I have no doubt that Gerard saw emotion as weakness, and if he thought Tilda was weak, she wouldn’t have kept her position as his lieutenant. That could have also put her life in danger. She had to hide her feelings, keeping them tightly locked down just below the surface. A tempest on the inside, but perfectly composed on the outside. It was a façade she had centuries to refine. This is why at times she seems cold or emotionless, but she isn’t.
Imagine what Tilda must have felt when she first saw Aloy and after she watched her focus. Fascination. Joy. Excitement. A way to finally to put an end to her suffering. Her life had turned bitter at the absence of the one person she longed to share it with, and this was a chance to change that. Aloy gave her hope. For Tilda, taking Aloy was an act of love.
In their last phone conversation, obviously Elisabet was upset about what FZ tried, but it felt like there was an undertone of something deeper in her reaction. She sounded truly heartbroken. I think they were in a serious relationship probably for quite awhile (remember Tilda downplayed their involvement together so Aloy wouldn't be as suspish). Tilda mentions they met in her 30's - she would have been 30 years old in 2055, and Elisabet started working on ZD at the very end of 2064. So there is the potential they were close for a long time. I think she gave Tilda the copy of Apollo because she still loved her, and it was the last thing she could ever do for her. 💔😭💔
Here at defaultjane-official we are very normal about Tilda van der Meer.
Okay so hear me out
Tilda and Regalla are both hot as fuck
Tilda: in a mood.
Tilda: not telling you which one
Don't worry darling
there was no way Carrie-Anne Moss's character Tilda van der Meer could look like this and not be a lesbian, it was simply Foretold
Fun fact: you can see Tilda's jawline under her suit, so at the very least she's not all wires under there.

Are we all actually going to pretend Tilda Van Der Sexy Meer is dead? Because we know she's not. She's coming back in one way shape or form. She's the international woman of mystery, an atheist billionaire immortal who loves art and is a hopeless romantic. This woman couldn't even wait to have that dramatic death of her dreams fighting for the woman she loved for a thousand years. And we know she is too much of a drama queen to just die after that battle. Nope. She has to make it emotionally believable for the esthetic and all in the name of love. Tilda is far too clever to die. She will return a goddess from the heavens to continue her seduction upon our fiery haired heroine. Mark my words! You don't create a character like her just to kill her after two scenes. You don't call up Carrie Anne Moss to do that hot piece of lesbian mess for only 3 days of work. A game company doesn't spend weeks studying actual art in a museum just to tell a snippet of story for a character that has less than 20 minutes in a game. Besides, Nemesis needs someone from Zenith to be alive so it has a reason to be there. She will return. 🌹💘
elisabet: is something burning?
tilda: just my love for you
elisabet: tilda, the toaster’s on fire
